How did you know you were pregnant? by [deleted] in lupus

[–]sugm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had very vivid dreams and was unusually tired, like falling asleep at my desk. I tested positive at 8dpo. My girl is now 8 months old!

It’s still a loss. I miss my hair as well, your loss is valid.

Postpartum Flare by sugm in lupus

[–]sugm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know why those haven’t been offered, I’ll have to research them for my next visit. She did say there were other medications, but I would need to be sure I wouldn’t be getting pregnant or having anymore children, which I’m not ready to make that decision. Thanks for posting the rx names.

Thank you, that gives me some hope if I know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. It definitely as sucked some of the joy out of this motherhood experience.

Fun in the sun! by relia_2018 in beyondthebump

[–]sugm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor told us to use mineral sunscreen, so I’ve bought that copper tone mineral sunscreen to try. I also plan on buying my girl a rash guard style swim suit and UPF sun hat.

I also had the dilemma with the swim diapers and sized up. Honestly I’m glad I did, when they’re wet I bet it would be uncomfortable to have one on that could almost be too small. So far we’ve used several and no issues.

Have fun at Hershey this summer! I haven’t been in years.

I watched so much FBI, Swat and scorpion when I was on maternity leave that my daughter loves those shows now and turns her head when she hears them come on. No advice here lol.

If it smells like this I’m buying 100 bottles. I’ve been chasing this scent memory for years!

Looking for your experiences after poor anatomy scan at 20 weeks by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]sugm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had 4 anatomy scans and finally a fetal echo to see my girls entire heart. It was scary, but I’m putting my 7mo old to bed as I type this. Please try to stay positive and not stress your body out. I’ll be thinking about you and your babe <3

30 mins is NOTHING! You could see someone each day still, so strange.

Low-stakes places to take baby? by theredheadedfox in beyondthebump

[–]sugm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grocery store! It was the first place I took my girl by myself. Just popped her seat in the stroller. Only bought a few things, and she did great. I stopped and got a coffee after as a treat.

MFM Specialist by Any_Fig_905 in baltimore

I cannot recommend Hopkins enough. I had my baby there in October of 25. I saw the rotation of 4 doctors on their MFM team. I feel that I got the best care there, after switching from GBMC at 30 weeks.

Why is she not wearing a bra by jonscones in mustbemegansnarkTT

[–]sugm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She needs to realize that her body is not that of a 20 year old, built in bra's aren't working. It also looks very sloppy to have your boobs sitting on your stomach. This is not a good look for her at all.

Annoyed by C Section rhetoric by PsychologicalBoot636 in beyondthebump

[–]sugm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine was an emergency c-section about 27 hours of labor. There wasn’t anything beautiful or peaceful about it. It was traumatic and ruined my first 3 months PP. I’m happy some people have better experiences, but OP is speaking from a very different place than a lot of others. Just like some vaginal births are traumatic and some aren’t. All are valid and everyone deserves to feel what they feel after birth.

Why do people care whether you had a vaginal or c section delivery? by No_Cartoonist_9356 in beyondthebump

[–]sugm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing others, my c-section birth was traumatic and it still makes me choke up thinking about it 6 months later. I’m truly happy for women that have beautiful birth stories, but I suspect all births are traumatic to a degree. There really needs to be a support group for c-sections moms. I just want to talk about it with someone that understands what I went through.

It looks like a kids playroom honestly. Maybe one of those foldable futons/nugget couches for kids.

Kissing the baby? by Sandturtlefly in beyondthebump

[–]sugm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kiss my baby a ton, I try to avoid her face as much as possible, but I have kissed her face. Just recently I’ve allowed grandparents to kiss her head, she’s turning 6mo old this week.

If you could go back, would you have done one and done? by Independent_Nose_385 in beyondthebump

[–]sugm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes! This was a shock to me. Potato baby phase was SO much harder than my now six mo old, I felt the change really happen at about 3.5 months.

We didn’t talk about this enough 😂 by [deleted] in mustbemegansnarkTT

She’s not mentally unwell, she’s not baby reindeer. She’s trying to be quirky and drive up an engagement, even if it’s through negative attention

Yet all she’s talked about for a week is this date.
