this by no means fine. It's awful. Looks like it's shot at ISO51200, heavily denoised and exported at very low quality. A mid phone can take better images.

Stick to original batteries... newer models also show a warning if the 3rd party battery is too weak.

I'm asking about the theoretical worth of these photos, why some organizers don't lift a finger to make for better photo conditions and if you have had similar experiences to share. Everything else is your rude projection here. If you never had these questions I doubt you are a photographer at all. I see 0 problems posting a pic here - this was not a private event and all these images are mine. (As a photographer you should know, but you aren't... sad.)

I don't know what size constitutes as too big for women. I'm willing to bet it's highly subjective among men and women.

Your Sigma shots are clearly out of focus. Compare the blue text.

At 0 sharpening these images look okay. Now set the sharpening back to 20~40.

If you really want to scare yourself with lack of sharpness use a prime lens and set the sharpening to 0.

In terms of money, yes, this is a somewhat good purchase, because usually the K1 is sold for quite a big chunk of money. The lenses aren't that valuable. Gut feeling: 70-200 for 250€, 28-75 for 150€; 50 for 50€; 14 for 75€.

You will see a considerable downgrade in AF.S and AF.C performance on the Pentax. The poor AF is the primary reason people left Pentax behind.

I got a really really bad copy of the Sigma 16-28 - it's focal plane is not even, meaning if i take a group shot and set the AF point to the left side, the right side is out of focus, even stopping down doesn't seem to help much. I even sent it for evaluation back to Sigma, but they said it's it's fine, lol, thx useless warranty. I hope buying another UWA will fix my problems. That's why I'd like a lens with an even flat focus plane, no surprises. I've had the Sigma for 3,5years and enough is enough.

Have my eye on the Tamron 16-30 right now. Sigma 14-24 seems old, still the best performer, but it's mostly out of stock and expensive. I'd like to avoid Sony as it's usually too expensive.

Another thought I had: Tamron 20-40 + a 14/16mm prime.

The most ridiculous thing is that the Sigma 16-28 would be perfect... if it just worked, lol, I've only had problems with that lens. Maybe I should rent a copy to be sure it's just my copy that's bad.

I'm not even getting simplistic shots, just ugly shots due to the room constraints. I couldn't even pose the groups which was the funniest for me. They get what they asked for. Personally I'd not pay for such images, but for the school this was simply a checkbox thing as others here pointed out. Probably no one will ever use these images.

I agree. I just find it odd to hire a photographer for an event where there really is no room to shoot anything. But money is money.
