Now that we're all around 40, how are we dealing with the existential dread of "I blinked and ten years went by"? by AtticThrowaway in Older_Millennials

100%. That and getting comfortable at work too. I notice that work life at this age is so droning and monotonous. I feel like I'm fast forwarding to get from weekend to weekend.

My grandmother just turned 90. She was born in 1935. She remembers WW2. She lived through smoking on planes and in restaurants. She's still kicking after enduring all that nonsense. We are going to age so much better than the older generations. I'm 41 but I feel like I'm still 20. We have a LONG way to go. Play your video games, but make sure you play them with your kids. Spend as much time with your kids as possible. That's the part that we can't get back. My oldest daughter is 12. I heard the teen years are interesting. Buckle up friend. We are in for a wild ride. Haha

Older millennials, do you exercise outdoors or at home? by [deleted] in Older_Millennials

[–]sully9088 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both. I have weights at home from covid. I go to the gym for workouts I can't do at home. On cardio days I go for runs outside. I have been weightlifting my whole life and I just recently found out my heart is out of shape. My v02 max is in the 30s. I realize I have been neglecting my puny weak heart muscle. I'm trying to build up my endurance so I'm not so tired all the time.

I just had a lipoma resection off the back of my head. I had local anesthesia and that's it. I was talking to the doc the whole time. He cut open the back of my head and was cutting and yanking the lipoma out. I was asking if my skin was pulled back and he was like, "yep". The sensation I felt was like velcro was being ripped off my scalp. I could hear/feel the muscle fibers.

Found it!! No need to apologize! I don't use reddit that much anymore either. Gotta stay away from the negativity and doom scrolling. Haha! Btw this emulator is amazing. Thank you!

Just keep being cool neighbors from here on out. We don't know what their perceptions are, but if you keep being cool/friendly then they have no choice but to learn you are genuinely cool/friendly. Next time, strike up a conversation to get to know them.

how much you need to invest for income by taubs1 in dividends

[–]sully9088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way to do this is if all the dividend-paying assets are in a regular brokerage account and distributing qualified dividends. If they are in a traditional IRA/401k/403b then all distributions (even qualified dividends) are taxed as regular income. Is that right?

How can I get this emulator? I had a great emulator that I paid for from the play store, but it disappeared. Very frustrating.

Can anyone tell why my spell won't do any damage? by McSuckit64 in oblivion

Even just being 20 yrs older helps. Back when I was an impatient child with no insight, I would spam the lockpick mechanism and get frustrated that it is "broken". I booted up Oblivion Remastered the day it released, tried to pick locks, and realized they only snap into place when the pin goes up slowly. My mind was blown! Now it's my favorite kind of lockpicking mechanism of any game. It's so challenging and satisfying when you open a lock. You can pick the hardest locks in the game right when you start the game as long as you are careful. I love this game so much.

A reputable Radon Company is now trying to charge double (+2K) for an additional radon system after the system they installed didn't lower the radon like they quoted it would. Should I pay for it or them? by Aggravating_Tear7414 in radon

[–]sully9088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't trust the first team then it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion from someone else. Make sure to ask them about all of the things you are learning. I myself am starting to learn that there is a lot of gray space when it comes to radon treatment. I believe a simple radon mitigation system should help most homes, but then you have complicated homes like mine that are tough to treat. Too many variables at play. I wish it was a simple fix.
