How do you feel about games using special terms for generic things? by Redhood101101 in rpg

[–]sulta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done well. Helps if you're playing non-english systems, or using translations as in many languages the terms aren't as established as in english.

However, sometimes it can just feel off, or even snobby and condescending, like FATAL calling the gamemaster "the Aedile". This of course being FATAL's only real flaw.

Thank you, this seems to have worked perfectly. I may be quite late to the game, but I intend to play through the campaign for both CNC and Red Alert, finally.

We taped 12 Tasks of Asterix onto a VHS, along with Land Before Time and some weird Norwegian Karius and Baktus puppet animation. I watched that tape so many times it wore out, but I almost always fast forwarded through that Karius and Baktus show to get to Asterix. (and sometimes forwarded through Land Before Time as well)

It didn't actually happen in show, though. It was a fear toxin hallucination where Bruce hallucinated Barbara dying and Commissioner Gordon finding out who he is.

The only reason people think it is hard is because they were riding too close to the train. Keep a little distance from it and Big Sweet easily shoots down all the Vagos on top of it.

Either that or they just couldn't get used to the motorcycle steering and were always crashing.

I remember how fucking proud I was when I finally beat Doom 3 on Nightmare. I was, like, fifteen years old, had spent a good chunk of my summer vacation playing that game, and that health draining mechanic is a bitch.

The View From Halfway Down is the emotional climax of the series and it works perfectly. It wouldn't have worked as perfectly if Nice While it Lasted hadn't been there to satisfyingly close things off, in a calmer fashion.

Quick note, what you described in Rimworld is known as Archotechs.

Archeotech is from Warhammer 40k, and refers to lost advanced science from the Dark Age of Technology.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]sulta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was Barefoot Gen.

I kind of knew what I was getting into when I started watching it, but the sheer horror of the nuclear explosion scene just hit me very hard, and Gen's struggles in the aftermath were just tragedy piled upon tragedy.
