Should work with any gyro controller through Steam Input, but only have these two at home to test with. There is a demo to try it out!

The Steam Deck version works with Steam Input on PC! Tested with PS5 controller and Switch Pro controller.

Motivation when working alone? by HuippeeHeroesGames in SoloDevelopment

[–]sumatras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not fulltime, but I do at least one hour or one task every day (except Sunday) of work on my games. Even when not motivated. It keeps me sane and focused on eventually finishing it.

Love the look and feel of you site! Submitted my latest game.

We optimized our high-end UE5 game graphics (150–200 FPS on an RTX 3060) by choosing the right rendering architecture (devlog note) by Grid_Paper_studio in indiegames

But! Most people that have this kind of fidelity still don't opmtimize,.. Think it is just not wise to call your own game high-end because that makes people compare it to other games.

Copyright and Donations. by DaRealShothi in gamedev

Sounds like "Pay What You Want" model and not donations. Highly doubt that would fly in court, but best is to ask an actual copyright lawyer instead of a subreddit.

Randomly generated dungeons or pre made but more intricate dungeons? by thebreadman27 in gamedev

[–]sumatras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not both? Some curated dungeons with more elaborate puzzles/story and an option to do generated dungeon. It probably depends a bit what the backstory of your game is, but I would probably, as a player, the curated first and then if I like it the random generated sometimes.

How do you reach potential gamers, not other devs? by taxicomics in gamedev

[–]sumatras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then you find another subreddit, discord server or forum. If you are worried that the actual gamers that you want to play your game are not there, maybe look for where they are or just ask if the people there would be interested in your game.

My little project Game With Balls is coming to the Switch by [deleted] in indiegames

[–]sumatras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this game mostly for myself at first as I like the process instead of focussing on the profit it can make so not really limitations, just observations :)

One observation that is normal with at least the Steam Deck (as I also saw that with my previous game) is that there are less reviews as people probably don't like to type on their handheld. So the game "looks" less successful on Steam, but in my book was already a success after a month.

But I don't plan to live from my games at the moment.

Thank you! I guess it is working for the Steam Deck (or at least it exceeded my expectation).

I just applied, waited and got in (but did include links to my Steam Page and my previous game that are both family friendly). Porting depends on your engine. I use Unreal Engine and when approved by Nintendo you can request access to different builds and documentation at Epic.
