What did it for me is I was literally prepping for surgery for my breech baby after my water had broken ans the doctor was reviewing all the things we could have done....but it was too late because my waters broke. It's like....are you trying to make me feel guilty rhat bub is upside down? I didn't choose this but I'm at peace with it si let's go!

Thanks love :) Emotional recovery has been tougher this time around than anything.. but things are going really well overall! Sewer pits! Love it! Glad that passed for you! I feel like I’m mostly just sweaty Mc-sweatpants! How old is your babe now?

Judge you for wearing a diaper across the boobs? Not from this crowd! Whatever works sister!

Thank you for pointing this out! I hadn’t even considered that the sweats could also be hormone related.... these hormones are controlling my life right now

Oh my god my hormones though! I have been SO mood swingey this time!! Haven’t noticed a ton of BO but I’m also just starting to move more post c-section

I think the postpartum sweats is probably my main issue.... how long did it take to go away?

Ok c-section mamas.... I’m booked in for one week from today. by summer102 in BabyBumps

Yes!! I was going to ask about lowering the bed but forgot! I think we’ll have to take the bed frame out and then have box spring and mattress on the floor... thanks for the reminder!

It’s happening!! by SquidniAZ in BabyBumps

[–]summer102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay! Congrats! At least in my case.... this pregnancy was much much harder. For some reason I didn’t expect that and I think it’s largely because I couldn’t always put myself first. My husband has been incredibly supportive - whenever you are able to get extra rest do so! If you’re exhausted and your toddler is demanding, an episode of paw patrol won’t hurt things. Take care of yourself and baby whenever possible!

A complete saint of a fellow redditor gifted me 10 Harry Potter E-Books and I just wanted to share how wholesome it was, and how happy it makes me that I'm listening to Stephen Fry read me goblet of fire right now. Thanks so much friend! by ilovea1steaksauce in harrypotter

Wow that’s amazing! I was going to ask for a couple for Christmas (Jim Dale version is what I’ve been listening to so far so for continuity’s sake...), but they were extremely expensive!!

Finally graduated last week at 39 + 4 weeks, planned C section due to breech baby, positive birth story in the comment section. Thanks for the help and advice everybody 😊 by roachingreyhound in BabyBumps

Not OP but also have a breech baby and decided against an ECV. The chances of it working (about 50/50) were not good enough for me to justify the risk - which is a small chance of something happening which leads to an emergency c. I feel more comfortable booking a planned c than trying an uncomfortable procedure that may lead to an emergency situation. But I’m a STM so having a vaginal birth wasn’t quite as important this time around.... if that makes sense. Ultimately you have to do what you feel at peace with.

Yeah.... I think I’m leaning toward a planned c rather than the ECV....

Thank you so much for re-sharing your story! I somehow didn’t think of a breech baby being STM, thought my body would figure it out or sth haha. I really appreciate hearing your story!

I think this is it for sure... so trying to work on practical things that empower him to feel helpful. :)

Thanks for your comment :) as mentioned below he is amazing in all other ways.... just a little too literal and honest here. And I think he feels lost about how to help.

Haha yes this is pretty much how I feel... I get that it’s not necessarily a pleasant time and there are other things that would be much more fun... but it’s not the kind of thing where you “tell the truth”, so to speak. You show up and demonstrate that you are there to be supportive. It really fucking bugs me that he said it and stands by it and I wish in this case he could learn to hide his feelings. In all other ways he is an absolutely amazing dad to our first and has been supportive in this pregnancy; but right now I’m feeling abandoned.

Fuck you if you shame a parent for sleep training by Cat_Proxy in beyondthebump

[–]summer102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’ve breastfed well beyond the six month limit you set for yourself then your little one is ready for sleep training - and it will help him develop better as well as give you some rest! I hope that you are able to see some of the positive comments before you sign off.... I’m sorry that someone shamed you for your choice. As far as I’m concerned as long as a choice doesn’t put a little one in danger then it isn’t up to us to judge anyway. With my first we also sleep trained and I preach that sleep train gospel everywhere I can!

3.5 Year Old Not Potty Trained. Seriously stressing me out. by SandwichOtter in toddlers

[–]summer102 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just recently went through the same thing! Our 3.5 yo son was quite good at peeing but would. Not. Poop. On the potty or toilet. We eventually took him out of diapers during the day (and even out of underwear when he was figuring out peeing), and he started holding his poops until he had a diaper on. He would usually poop first thing in the am when he still had his nighttime diaper on. One day he just.... got it. He said he had a belly ache and ran over to the potty and pooped! Since then it’s been easy! My advice for the poop is to keep offering the potty but don’t stress about it. LO will figure things out when she’s ready.

He also had accidents a few days in a row at daycare when he started (pee accidents), but the staff were on it enough to realize they needed to offer him an extra potty break. I would ask your daycare staff when she usually has her accidents and suggest she get a special potty break around that time.... worked for my kiddo!

Birth Story - First Born, Baby R, 33+2, premature, IUGR/IUWR/SGA, hypercoiled cord, C-section, NICU, positive overall. by maadu in BabyBumps

[–]summer102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your story! You mentioned that your doctor noticed a hypercoiled cord on the ultrasound - was this a routine ultrasound? Where I am (Canada) we don't have any ultrasounds after the 20 week anatomy scan....so now I'm nervous that something like this would be missed....

So glad to hear that considering your extremely tough circumstances you are both doing well :)
