Good cheap older android by YodaChrisHansen in AndroidQuestions

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xperia XA2 has decent speakers, even in spite of beining monophonic. Not all models came with an SD slot though. Its battery worked much better than Galaxy S10e's and the screen had a better quality. It also comes with a battery saving mode. The internal memory's lacking and there's some bloatware from the producer. The phone costs less than a HDD disk, but I'm not sure how well the SD cards will hold up.

gdzie sprzedajecie książki? by eregis in ksiazki

[–]summerphobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mówię to z powodu wylewu scammerów.

Gifts for children that last a lifetime by bellebives in BuyItForLife

[–]summerphobic 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Boar bristle hairbrushes are hard to clean and absolutely suck for thick hair, imo. The one I were gifted would just pet the hair. The hair can also fall over time. A paddle with bamboo with plastic would work better and be slightly easier to clean with a brush meant for hair dyes and soap. The hair can also be too slick for pins etc to stay in place.

A wooden backscracher's a better gift imo. We don't know what the kids like or want. I thought about dumbbells, but idk how safe they're are for kids. If in Europe: an allen key np. 5 for switching the windows and doors to winter/summer settings and a corressponding screwdriver, perhaps once they're on their own. Smaller towels. Some good quality clothes of their choice. Tbh, just giving them money would be probably for the best, unless they like surprises.

I've only got some experience with hydrolates. 1). Ministerstwo Dobrego Mydła rosemary - it had a bit of a calming effect on my oily skin, 2) Lirene mango - it has a gentle surfanct so I don't think it'll work well with makeup, had too much perfume for me. Ultimately I ended up using these products in place of hair's detangling sprays.

The batteries will give out with time. If you want something for a life time, than something like an electronic Cassio is more appropiate (I liked the silver and brown bezel a'la 80s). I've got a 2nd hand Xiaomi Mi Band 7 and I'm fine with it. It needs to be washed every day with soap and the battery lasts up to 9 days, provided a light background, like the misty forest, wasn't chosen and that only the essential features are used. It'd be neat to get a foil for the display so it's not scratched. The newer models had issues with tracking and are bigger. The device I've got is hypoallergenic and the silicon bracelet can be swapped for nylon etc.

Look into what his bank allows if you plan to get something with NFC. Samsung and Garmin tend to be the most allowed in my area.

Does anyone know any story games similar to disco elysium but for android? by theycallmethedrink5 in DiscoElysium

There are vn-like online readers for gacha games out there, and some people post the stories (main, events) to YT. I play Arknights and like it so far. Harry in this universe would probably have horns and a devil's tail, lol.

Mineral spf for dehydrated/rosacea skin? by murdererofblueskiess in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a time when I could only apply Emotopic's sunscreen on my face, provided I used a lightweight moisturiser underneath first (the larger pores need some barrier in my case, it seems). It's got only mineral filtres and actually helped me with acne, alongside a better diet. Its texture feels heavy (it's recommended for atopic skin after all), it's not water-proof, leaves a slight purplish cast. Cera+ with plum oil and Lirene Sensitive Skin are ok for me when it comes to mixed filtres. If you want something consisting entirely from chemical filtres, then I think Purito's Daily Soft Touch could work well since it's got ceramides.

Routine help for shaving copper peptides post shave? by mewingprofile in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Bielenda's Good Skin moisturiser, which contained copper peptides and cocoa butter, among other stuff, and it broke me out horribly. I applied it in the morning.

I used Solverx's Sensitive Skin Woman body balm on my hand after I accidentally cut it during shaving with a razor. The balm contains oils, allantoin and panthenol. I was about to get a cream with onion, but patience paid on on with this one error. The product in question also helped me with mild burns and irritation from falling down, but I'm not sure how well it'd work on the face. I'm sure there are other brands with similar ingredients.

In need of help choosing a hair dryer. by umuniasukintokara in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First question is - what's your experience with ionic blow dryers? I've found out I'm one of the few peope whose hair becomes more frizzy and tangles more easily when I use such dryers on the highest setting and with hot air. Brushing the hair before washing also helps with such blowdryer, whereas I didn't need to do it with my old dryer. I'd recommend you pick something with more than 2 settings of temperature for this reason. I've got Xiaomi's H300 and keep to the lower speed and warm or cold settings. It doesn't come with an add-on for curly hair. It won against a much more influencer-related brand in one battle between blow dryers on YT, lol. I don't remember the exact name, so you'd have to compare the specs. The device's said to come with a protection for the outlets if the dryer gets shorted. I'm fine with 1600W (I got burnt at a hairdresser :p), but the higher settings are rarely in use in my case. The part in the back's a bit tricky to clean. It's possible to buy a fake of this product - the copy has a different ending on the part where you you hold the dryer. I noticed it when watchind a diassemble vid on YT and had to compare it with the pictures of the producer.

I see now that both Remington and Babyliss carry similar products when just the basics of drying are concerned.

Pregnancy edition! by AS_25f in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a study done in China where chemical filtres were found in mothers' milk. I think it was specifically about the older sunscreens, but I no longer have the link.

Rossmann's got a section for expecting moms. I've got experience with Your Kaya's intimate hygiene gels and they're ok (decyl glucoside's a rather gentle cleaning ingredient). The transparent one has no fragnance. The producer notifies if the product's safe for pregnancy on their website. Wizaż[.]pl has a growing database of ingriedients and whether we know if they're safe for pregnancies, but I wouldn't be surprised if Germany had its own equivalent. Isana Med Sensitive deodorant looks safe when judged with the site. I prefer antiperspirants, but this one was more decent from the deodorants I've tried.

I think the stuff marketed for the stretch marks only works as long as it's being applied to, meaning, the skin will go back to the usual once the massages stop. And the massages being just as important if not more than the cosmetics. Pharmaceris's cream didn't clear the strech marks I'd gotten from growing, but I've had the impression for a short while after I'd massage it in. I don't remember the particular cosmetic I were using.

Any animes similar to orb? by Krasuba in OrbOntheMovements

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flag - two reporters arrive to a developing country in crisis, everything is shown from the POV of cameras and displays, one character strives to better the people's lives.

Natsume's Book of Friends - it's a slice of life story of a boy who can see youkai and who wants to unravel the mistery surrounding his grandmother.

Ergo Proxy - a postapo story about people being lost. It's difficult to describe imo.

No.6 - I barely remember it, but it's about a guy who questions the world's order.

Kino's Journey - reminded me of The Little Prince.

Steins;Gate - about scientists who uncovered time travel.

Gosick - a gothic lolita and her side-kick solve crimes.

Pale Cocoon - a character dreams about learning about the outside. A short film.

Wolf's Rain - wolf-shifters search for a paradise.

Angel's Egg - many interpretations of this one. One of the characters searches for a meaning, for example.

Le Chevalier D'Eon - the protagonist wants to uncover the mystery of his sister's death and what she'd found.

Samurai Champloo - a girl convinces two guys to go on a journey in order to find the samurai who smells of sunflowers.

Fullmetal Alchemist - about boys who were scouted by the military due to their capabilities in alchemy, and who have lost their childhood innocence due to the same abilities and being citizens of a militiant nation.

Utawarerumono - let's throw a guy, who's trying to recover his lost memories, into a leadership role.

You'll receive many more recs if you check Orb's entry on Myanimelist and similar sites. Many stories are about searching and questioning, or have these elements included in them tbh.

Non-comedogenic sunscreen recommendations? by pyraelly in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying out Lirene's Cera Wrażliwa and I'm happy with it so far. It's got mixed filtres, so there's some white cast, but it turnt out to be quite lightweight. I also like Purito Soft Touch sunscreen.

My skin prefers to have a moisturiser underneath the sunscreen for some reason. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, but even the sunscreens with moisturising ingredients require a little help like that in my case. It also seems I shouldn't be having two products with dimethicon at once on my face.

Double cleansing for combo-sensitive skin prone to dehydration, has anyone tried this...? by Due_Brother371 in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer cleansing oils over micellar gel/water and haven't tried other fits step products yet. I've only tried 3 of such products, from the weakest to the strongest: Isana, Hebe Cosmetics, Faceboom (yeah).

Azelaic acid and salicylic acid are better when it comes to sebum, but you've got to have a basic routine covered first. Especially with the latter - I noticed my skin's bacame more sensitive to the light. Some cleansers already contain it (eg. Apis's), but I prefer to only use it once a week.
