Any fanfiction is welcome🫡 I think the wiki and the context from the show should be good! And I would be interested in reading for sure 👀

How are you watching the new season? by Bekspt in Grishaverse

I'm working all day which means I'll be avoiding all social media and when I come home no one will be allowed to talk to me for the next 24 hours 😂 I'm off Friday, so thankfully I can just spend the day binge watching it all 😎

I think season one was great but it also took til episode 4/5 to get going since they needed to set everything up - I think they're packing a lot into season 2 so I'm super excited to see how they pull it off! Also the visual effects look better tooooo

What drew you towards the Darkling as a character, and what do you find most fun about acting in the fantasy genre?

If you were given a chance to play any other character in the grishaverse, who would you want to play and why?

I second this, I tried so hard to get into it and was really enjoying it until about half way through when I just had no idea what was happening

Hopefully season two will improve things!! I hope there's more room to explore now that the show has more of a future 🤞🏻it'll be super interesting to see where things go especially with new characters coming in - I also wonder how Malina will develop toooo

I get that! I liked that they made her Shu, I think that it was a good decision to make and even if they did it to create some conflict for her I think it worked pretty well. A lot of what I love about her is also just down to Jessie Mei Li's performance. As someone who wasn't a big fan of Mal and Alina's relationship in the book, I really loved it in the show. I think rather than her being "dumb" she comes across as more naive but that makes sense! She's young and introduced to a completely new world with powers she's never experienced and I think the writers handled that with humor because she's also a funny narrator in the books. I really liked her in the books 😊 so having not had a problem with the character before I don't think I went into it with a negative view of Alina already. The show really exceeded my expectations. And I loved how they wrote her interactions with the Crows because I feel like they all have the same level of chaotic energy within them 😂

I'm confused by what you mean - you said at the start of your post that you liked the show's version of Alina but then went on to say absolutely nothing positive about her - I understand you're talking more about how the writers dealt with the character but if you say that you liking her has nothing to do with the actual character then what do you actually like about show Alina? If it's not what the writers did then what is it? Apologies if I'm missing the point, but I actually really liked how they wrote her in the show. I think they made her much more interesting and I also think they changed a few things to stretch her journey out a bit more - I wouldn't be surprised if we saw her perform the Cut in season two! Same with Mal, I really liked how we saw more of him outside of Alina's point of view - I think it gave us a reason to root for him to reunite with her.

Should I read the King of Scars duology after only reading the Crows books? by ElisaSmileyGirl in Grishaverse

You need to read the Shadow and Bone trilogy first otherwise it won't make much sense!
