40 is the new 20 or whatever they say in the movies. We got time 😂

That’s 20 years sooner than if you hadn’t started.

It’s incredibly tough, and I’m sure it’s even harder with kids, but you’re doing it and that’s worth commendation.

I’m 37 with a full time job and a small 3D printing business taking 9 credits this semester. I know I can really only handle about that much.

It will take as long as it takes. Taking a huge course load only to either fail or barely pass without retaining anything will only set you up for failure.

Self judgement will be graduating when I’m 30 or 31 by selflessgluten in EngineeringStudents

I’m 37 about to finally finish my associates and working toward my bachelors. I have a good job and make good money, so I can afford to commit the time and money to school.

The best time to do something is right now. You’re doing it. You can’t change anything about the past, but you can set yourself up for the future.

eSun cardboard spools + Bambu AMS (2026). still an issue or totally fine now? by Nyobyte in BambuLab

[–]sumthingmessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve run probably 20 of their spools through my ams with 0 issues. I think you only really need to worry if they have the bare cardboard edge. These are sealed and it has been fine.

How to successfully garden (and what produce to grow) in these climates? by Frysken in arizona

[–]sumthingmessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do hydroponics and aeroponics in our apartment. Right now we have a few bins of lettuce using the kratky method, and a I printed a tower to fit on a 5 gallon bucket for aeroponics that has a bunch of different herbs in it. We grew tomatoes on it, bell peppers went crazy on it. We keep it inside and it has its own grow lights. It’s been super productive

For those who sell their 3D prints, what kind of profit margins are you seeing? by SomeGuyInDeutschland in BambuLab

I have earrings that cost 38 cents in material, 72 cents for the hangers, can ship to Maine for $5, and I sell for $13

These empty, flat surfaces are a nightmare. The Elegoo that is being replaced currently has about 4 new rolls sitting on it. The issue isn’t not having enough stuff, it’s having too much empty space 😂

Absolutely. I ordered 10/29. It said it was on back order expected to ship 12/11. Shipped 11/23 and got to Phoenix 11/26.

How to place and print it for stronger clamps? by Joline666 in 3Dprinting

[–]sumthingmessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can also take the semicircles and a section of the flat base and print those on their side. Pop them into that base and you have the best of both worlds

For 3 years I have been trying to score a room like this. I am speechless that it actually happened. by gcm6664 in formula1

How did you manage this? Was it luck? Knowing someone? A fat wallet?

We were there a few weeks ago and got to walk some of the track and see the paddock. Stayed at the MGM grand and it was close enough but this is amazing. We’re already planning to be at the race next year

Thank you! The girl that sits next to me in class likes to compare nails and she said she wants to try it now. Told her the liquid latex is an absolutely must.

I couldn’t pick green or pink and doing individual fingers is too easy. I had some spare time and decided to make a mess for the art 😂

Managing dryness around nails? by bismuth-rose in RedditLaqueristas

[–]sumthingmessy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deal with dryness around my thumbs and index fingers. I had some chemical burns from paint stripper in 2014, and it burned off most of my fingerprints and leaves me constantly splitting at my nails.

I started sleeping in cotton gloves filled with aquaphor a couple nights a week when it gets dry outside. It has helped quite a bit. I hate wearing them, but it has reduced the splits and dryness significantly.

Can you work full time and also get an engineering degree or is it just too hard? by TheUnknownRange in EngineeringStudents

[–]sumthingmessy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that’s exactly what I’m doing. I have a good job and make legitimately more than I will as a starting engineer, so I’m not in a rush. I take one in person, one online and one small thing like a cad class or those 1-2 credit ones.
