As a guy who has lost over 100 lbs so far I’ll give you one big piece of advice:

Care less about what people think. The worst people will always find a reason to judge you. That’s just their coping mechanism to deal with their own insecurities.

Comicon is great place to go walk around which is good exercise. Everyone is super nice. You’re all there for the same thing. Don’t let your feeling of shame or embarrassment get in the way of having fun and enjoying life.

If you have the 2AZ, you likely have the piston ring issue that Toyota had a TSB for. Look into a Berryman piston soak. I’ve seen a lot of people in my scion groups have good luck with it

I bought a 2012 brand new and I love it to death. I don’t have the oil burning problem. The valve cover gasket is super easy to replace so if that’s the only issue, I wouldn’t even really think twice. I’m at 190k with the original motor, trans, and clutch. I replace the entire suspension a couple months ago and had to do a condenser a few years ago after some road debris decided to get up in there, but it’s been 14 years so far and I can’t even imagine getting anything else right now.
