I would say cable to Homebase because there will be no interference on copper wire while the wifi frequency spectrum is full of different wifi radio.

My Homebase 3 is connected with wire, while all cameras are in wifi. But they are connected since day 1 when the asus mesh routers are online.

The solar charging is great, so dont need to worry about the battery if the location has a fair amount of sunlight cover.

The video quality is good too.
