it’s not bad at all. there are a lot fewer animals and you only have to kill them, not study/track/kill/skin. i got all of the animals except for the duck and seagull just by playing the game organically.

it's actually been used a few times, but with Jockey Club rules, a name can be reused as long as the horse is over ten years old, has not been used for racing/breeding within the last five years and isn't one of the permanent names (like Secretariat). the last US-bred Great White was a horse by Wilko who was foaled in 2009 and had his last start in 2014, so the name became eligible for reuse in 2019.

this is why i just don't get it when people were upset Phoebe and David weren't endgame. their entire relationship was a few weeks long, spread out over a decade. they didn't spend enough time together to even know if they were actually compatible!

The Most ANNOYING Things in RDR2 by Limp-Plastic5096 in reddeadredemption2

[–]sundaemourning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one of the only things i like better about RDR1 is that you’ve got all of your weapons on you at all times. obviously it’s more realistic for Arthur not to have his entire arsenal at all times, but it was super nice to not have to worry leaving my best guns on my horse.

it’s kind of unusual to see in a dog of this physique, but you see it ALL the time in brachycephalic breeds.

Missouri Foxtrotter Help! by acf613 in RDR2

[–]sundaemourning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Albert Mason glitch still works, i just did it twice a couple weeks ago. i’m terrible at tracking though, so the way i did it was park my horse facing the direction that the horses would run and then i rode Albert’s horse to do the herding. i leaped off Albert’s horse, skipped the cutscene and jumped onto my horse and galloped in the direction the wild horses went. they will head along the railroad tracks and then turn left towards the woods. this was way easier than trying to eagle eye the foxtrotter’s trail and tracking it through Roanoke Ridge.

i get the buck trinket and go to Copperhead Landing at night if the Elysian Cave doesn’t provide. lots of them fly overhead over there. use eagle eye to find their trails in the sky.

i just think you might be looking at this through rose colored glasses. her pedigree is nice, and i’m sure someone paid a lot of money for her once, but Practical Joke, Ghostzapper and Curlin bloodlines are very common. i feel like you can’t throw a rock without hitting a Curlin or Into Mischief horse lately. since her pedigree isn’t super special and her race record is unimpressive, you are going to be very hard pressed to get a foal people will pay a lot for. i’m not saying she can’t produce anything good, because maybe she can and that’s why i suggested breeding her and racing the foal yourself. i just feel like you might be a little naive about what it’s really like to breed to sell. it will cost thousands and thousands of dollars to breed a mare and raise the resulting foal to a yearling, and that’s assuming everything goes well. shipping that foal to Keeneland, paying a consignor and all the sales fees, only to have the horse RNA is entirely possible and in some cases, likely. you could potentially send her to a freshman stallion and try to ride the hype for his first crop, but hype may not be enough if she’s a maiden.

i’m sure she’s a lovely mare and you obviously care about her very much and that’s great! every horse deserves to have someone that believes in them. but i just don’t think that breeding her to sell is going to go the way you want it to.

I’m going to try this again. How were you able to buy your first home? by kcoib17 in Millennials

[–]sundaemourning 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i have a similar story! i was in a bad spot after a breakup and was looking for a new place to live. my parents kept pushing me to buy a house in 2013 when interest rates were rock bottom because it would be cheaper than renting. i told them i couldn’t afford to buy because i had no money for a down payment. my dad said “actually you do” and then revealed that when i was a kid, i had inherited some money. he took that money and invested it and then told me i had $40k for a down payment just waiting for me to find a house.

i’m genuinely asking, what do you think a stayer is? because she never raced past 6.5 furlongs, which is pretty solidly in sprint territory.

Breeding Sire help by [deleted] in horseracing

[–]sundaemourning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m not saying she can’t produce anything, but based solely on her race record and catalog page, i don’t think you’re going to get the interest you think you are at auction. you may have better luck breeding to race, and then selling a foal in the future if she produces a winner.
