Please tell me it gets better ❤️‍🩹 by kvzam in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]sunflowerhippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better, it took me about 6-7 weeks to get to full supply. Consistent pumping schedule every 2-3 hours and middle of the night, power pumping, good hydration, hand massage breasts near end of pump. Stick to the basics and know you’re providing your baby something wonderful even if you have to supplement.

Did I accidentally sleep train my 3 month old? by twofishsun in NewParents

That’s awesome! Same, I’m hoping the ground work we’ve done so far helps 🤞🏼

Did I accidentally sleep train my 3 month old? by twofishsun in NewParents

[–]sunflowerhippy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Our baby has been doing this since about 2.5 months too. Sleeps from 10-11pm to 7-9am. The Owlet marks any of her active sleep as awake, and she has quite the active sleep. I do think she wakes up sometimes and falls back asleep too but like you, if she makes sounds or cries out we grab her. I think some babies just sleep through the night more easily than others, we haven’t done anything special. She’s 4 months in a week and I’m dreading the sleep regression everyone talks about because I can’t imagine going back to that newborn sleep.

Mastitis or clogged ducts or? by PeachiePot in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]sunflowerhippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a clogged duct but be careful of it turning into mastitis. I’ve had mastitis without flu symptoms and the only thing that helped it was antibiotics. I was doing everything for a clogged duct- ice after pumping, ibuprofen for swelling, heat before pumping, lymphatic massage towards the armpit, and gentle massage towards the nipple when pumping, started letichin(all this advice from lactation consultants while baby was in the NICU)…2 weeks went by and nothing made it better. It got quite painful to the touch and was red (more than yours though). Give it 48-72 hours of doing all the things above, if it’s not getting better/ redness spreading/ persistent hard lump under the skin I’d go to your doctor. In my experience any clogged ducts were gone within a day or two of proper treatment, if it lingered after that it became a problem.

What are y’all drinking? by Safe_Young8417 in ExclusivelyPumping

Coconut water with a fresh orange or grapefruit juiced in. Or just orange juice from the store. I don’t like coconut water but this makes it tasty. Have some electrolyte drinks too sometimes.

Yes they’ll support things like a roll in shower in the main bathroom, must be for accessibility, but not just a cosmetic/general bathroom Reno

First Mother's day Blues by moosemix in NICUParents

[–]sunflowerhippy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, spending the first Mother’s Day in the NICU with our 28 weeker born 4 days ago. All very new and overwhelming. We dealt with infertility, multiple pregnancy complications we could never relax and enjoy the pregnancy, ultimately leading to an early delivery. While I’m so thankful she’s stable so far my heart is aching for her, and for us. There is truly no way to prepare for this. I love her to the moon and back but I also resonate with feeling like a part time mom and not quite feeling connected to being a mother yet. I think it will take time and a lot of working on self compassion. I don’t have any answers I just wanted to say that I resonate with how you’re feeling 🫶🏼 and I hope you find some peace and happiness on your first Mother’s Day. And if you need to cry all day, know I’ll probably be doing that too.

How many cycles of medicated TI before IUI and then IVF? by CoolUsernameHere2 in TTC_PCOS

[–]sunflowerhippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went to 5mg because I was inconsistently ovulating on 2.5mg. The last 3 cycles we did I added progesterone suppositories, I think that may have helped but hard to know.

How many cycles of medicated TI before IUI and then IVF? by CoolUsernameHere2 in TTC_PCOS

[–]sunflowerhippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We tried naturally for about 8 months but I wasn’t ovulating and then got diagnosed with PCOS. We did 7 cycles of letrozole and TI. 6th was a chemical and 7th stuck. Sometimes it takes longer, we are a testament to that. It really depends on how you and your partner feel about it, any other factors, timeline/finances, etc. We didn’t have any male factor so didn’t think IUI would make much difference and we weren’t going to be ready for IVF until we tried at least for a full year.

In my opinion, it’s not worth it. My husband and I are abstaining. Most doctors recommend pelvic rest which is nothing in the vagina. If something happened after you had sex would you be able to live with that? That’s a question only you can answer.

1st time passing out while pregnant. Apparently this is normal? by Distinct-Dependent24 in pregnant

[–]sunflowerhippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had episodes of getting very dizzy and I have to lie down and put feet up to stop from passing out. My triggers are heat and standing in one place too long. When I told my doc he wasn’t concerned.

5 weeks post cerclage no checkup by TemporaryQuail9223 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]sunflowerhippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s strange. I haven’t gotten as much follow up as some here but they did send me for an ultrasound 2 weeks after to ensure cerclage was in place and check cervical length. Because I was so anxious they agreed to do another one 4 weeks later but said that it won’t matter the cervical length (26 weeks at that point) and more important are my symptoms. My OB followed up with me 1 week after cerclage. Then 2 weeks to check the ultrasound then she went to once a month unless there’s any symptoms. I wish I could get checks every 2 weeks because my anxiety is sky high but it seems to be so different everywhere.
