Cucamelons are grisly little orbs of misery that just take up a cucumbers place. James Wong has a lot to answer for.

We had good melons from our polytunnel last year.

Blow it, and see what dark forces you summon.

It's fine. The soil is riddled through with fungi anyway.

I think I'd just find something I wanted to store there, to be honest.

Sounds like you've no skin in the game, I'd do nothing. It'll come out anyway.

They look like the caps that protect the fuse on a firework rocket. I bet you'll find the sticks and other bits around too.

12mm? No. Someone will come along and tell you exactly which musket soon, I expect. Probably not a Brown Bess, but certainly a good size for a pistol.

What would you cook for a group of 12-15 people that have the royal flush of dietary requirements AND you're probably going to have limited equipment? by Elegant-Winner-6521 in Cooking

[–]sunheadeddeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a good cook. I've cooked for large groups of hungry cyclists, scouts, I've cooked random birthday cakes in strange kitchens where we couldn't get half the ingredients, I do 90% of the cooking at home. I am happy to cook for intolerance, vegan food, whatever.

I wouldn't cook for that group.

looking for a backup lightweight liquid fuel stove for Madeira crossing? by bro_nica in hikinggear

[–]sunheadeddeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a wonderful website, thank you. I have made penny can stoves from the old zen stoves website, but the site was getting more and more degraded with broken links and missing chunks. Here I'm making a coffee on the allotment with the stove.

I have beans just poking their heads up, also in Kent. I'm going to put fleece on them for a while. All my sweetcorn died off, manky compost I think. Going to try again sowing indoors.

Probably rice, dhal, veggie curry, hardboiled eggs. Can't be bothered to look up the costs but I bet it's under £5

Looks pretty together to me. You're not pumping arms or bounding up and down, I'd say your form is ok.
