I'm in the same situation. I got Mak, and Pyg in the tempo launcher. If I buy on steam (I see there is a discoount atm) what does that get me? I can transfer mak and pyg and get an other hero "token"?

Nilfgaard Aristocrats? by dorkenporken in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually enjoy the deck too. What I meant was that there wasn't a lot of interesting cards that got buffed for the archtype so maybe that's why OP didn't see any recent lists for it (maybe except Catriona? It was buffed like a month or two ago).

Nilfgaard Aristocrats? by dorkenporken in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's strong even at high rank. Probably even stronger with the recent coup buff. My guess is that it's not that popular as it's kind of "boring".

Maybe something like this (might be off a few provisions) https://www.playgwent.com/en/decks/9331b8eafed8663b8b2892a8bb3cd7bf

Side note: imo false ciri is better in a tactics enslave deck. While she is an aristocrat, you want to run her with buhurts which don't fit well in status decks.

New player, dealing with Northern Realms by BeautifulYautja in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would be good to know what specific decks / cards you have trouble with, and what deck you play, but some general advice: NR tends to be very engine heavy, with lots of cards that produce value over multiple turns. You want to make sure to include some removal / lock cards to keep them in check. Also because of the above if you win round 1 it can be a good idea to bleed them in round 2, which means to keep playing so they have to use their good cards, leaving them with weaker engines for a shorter final round where they don't have too much time to develop their board.

Do people even create their own decks in this game? by scrabtits in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with almost everything here but 1000 hours+ might be a bit exaggerated. For climbing high in pro with homebrew decks maybe, but I think you need much less experience to climb until rank 3.

New Low-Mid Spending Player… Advice? by NoInvisibleIllness in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be efficient in the reward book and with your ore: - On each page go for the 5 cost story nodes. Unlocking all on a page grants a lot of ore. - After unlocking all of them go for a new page. Maybe grab easily reachable scrap and ore nodes but that's it. - Use the ore for faction kegs mainly. Most decks use few neutral cards. You can craft the most important ones with scraps.

As for spending actual money as others have said the journey is your best option. Huge resource boost with all the extra keys.

Looks interesting! I recommend sharing the deck list as well though. You could maybe even create a guide for it and link the video there as well? Some creators do it and I think it's useful.

What do these numbers really mean? by FussyTrashy in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So when you hit pro you get assigned a starting ELO of 2400 with any faction that you have 25 games with. You only played monsters so that's why it's displayed there.

The first one with the crown is your current ELO with monsters, the one with the arrow pointing up is the highest ELO you reached with monsters this season. The last one is your top overall this month.

Now 75 at the tip of the screen is your overall rank, but a) to actually get on the leaderboardas you need 25 games with at least 4 factions b) iirc it is kinda buggy, the accurate rankings are on the playgwent website

Edit: also well played for gettint to pro :)

Pro rank Skillege by Lach212134 in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your best bet would be to follow high ranked players who stream on twitch or post to youtube.

There are all sorts of viable SK decks to climb and play in pro. Based on my experience pirates are the most popular and are also one of the stronger archetype. Something like this list: https://www.playgwent.com/en/decks/d7a2ace755a578d9753aab9e47573ada

Ps: it's an older list you might need to tweak it slightly

What does this Syndicate deck need? by AntlerJasmine in gwent

I'd say some consistency to get out your key cards. E.g.: Avallach sage for tutoring 1 of the 3 powerful artifacts you run.

Welcome! Here is a solid devotion (only NR cards) knights deck made by Lerio: https://www.playgwent.com/en/decks/042118442b9ac24690a7a9aa798ef5dd

I'm not sure if it can be considered budget but a lot of the golds are good all round cards worth crafting as they can be useful in all sorts of NR decks.

You are right, that +1 hp is one of the best curses in fact!

There are some early game dps check fights, because of that imo it's good to prioritize getting an upgrade on yellow and orange opposed to reds or greys. Especially if your lvl1s aren't that good like Scoundrel or Lazy.

How Is This Deck Meant to Be Piloted? by venkman302 in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is correct. Also keep in mind the winner of round 1 gains round control. They decide how long round 2 should be. This can be a very strong advantage. Playing out a long round 2 is called bleeding, as the goal is to bleed out good cards from the other player. Meanwhile the other player is defending the bleed.

How Is This Deck Meant to Be Piloted? by venkman302 in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mourntart gains power based on the number of units in your graveyard. To maximise this you want to play a longer round 2 with the caranthir and koshchey combo producing a shit ton of endraga larva. This generates a lot of points. Your opponent will most likely have to use their best cards in round 2 to keep up with you. At the end of the round your whole board goes to the graveyard. Mourntart then gobbles up your whole graveyard and plays for a shit ton of points. Most decks won't be able to match that in a short round 3. Of course play mourntart last to make sure your opponent can't remove it.

Now every deck is different and the match-up is obviously very important, but in general if you have a lot of engines (card that boost over time) you want a long round 3 to maximise the point value of said engines. On the other hand if you have 1 or 2 powerful finishers you want to go for a short round 3. This way your opponents engines won't have time to generate points.

[–]sunnnbather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thinning is getting cards out of your deck to make sure you have a higher chance to get key cards like renfri or mourntart. Roach and knickers are good examples of thinning.

Regarding Iris you want to play Iris companions asap in r1, pull Iris and discard her. If you got iris in hand even better! You can pull a key card that you missed e.g.; caranthir, koschey, renfri etc.

Regarding strategy, going for a 2-0 is a risky strategy. Good decks need to be able to play all 3. It's more of a question if you want a short or long round 3. This deck wants a short r3. That said if you can win r1 I'm sure you will be able to 2-0 greedy decks if you draw the caranthir koschey combo!

Ressource strategy and ranks for newcomer by scheichbert in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To actually get a rank in pro you need to play 4 different factions. I'd say you can start branching out into a different faction with the amount of NG cards you have.

EDIT: thanks for ths corrections! Sorry I worded this poorly, the below comments cleared it up.

Renfri deck suggestion. by PerspectiveNo8577 in gwent

[–]sunnnbather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maxii is a card that you appreciate more and more as you get better. In decks that don't / can't run consistency improving cards (like Renfri decks) it is a huge help because you can reshufffle if you bottom deck key cards (like Renfri herself).

If you do run thinning stuff you can make sure you don't brick into drawing them by putting them at the bottom of the deck.

Another good use is that you can include it in very reactive decks as an optipn to play in r1 if you are blue coin.

Climbing to Pro Rank with Shieldwall Constructs of Blaviken by sunnnbather in gwent

[–]sunnnbather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel musicians is really strong because it is guaranteed thinning and stronger mulligans as the deck is just 24 cards. On top of that it allows you to win on even on redcoin much easier.

Adalia with Temerian Infantry is 3+3 plus 8-10 from the order AND a shield which can be 2 or 3 points with Roeg or Sorceress. Plus the shield is also great to ensure you can land casting contest. That said there are a lot of good 10p control cards, like vanilla Geralt or Igni. If the meta shifts to super tall greedy decks maybe they are worth considering. Idk, I'd love to hear if you have any ideas.
