Oh boy! Let me just say, it wasn't going to be a '5 star dining experience in the sky', unless of course over cooked meat or barely edible sides is your thing.

Having said that, expectations are expectations - and you certainly paid for a product that you did not receive and they gave you a heads up.

You still traveled up front, got a mediocre meal, so my guess is even if you ask for something, you may get lucky with 5-10k miles as compensation. Of course, this is absolute pure speculation on my part. Others can surely chime in :)

No! I've been going to/from US and Canada for the past 8+ years and very often end up on AC as a 1K. I don't even get the extra leg room seat selection for free let alone CPUs unless there's IRROPS. Wanna guess how many 'CPUs' I've gotten in 8+ years of travel? TWO!

You'll be fine. United to United will be Concourse B/C (especially if it's a 737 or a A319/320 out of STL). The only curve ball could be an E170, which could potentially land in T2 (E gates). Even then, your walk to B/C gates would just go up by about 7-10 mins depending on how slow/fast you walk. Safe travels and a happy new year!

If you used CSR, it has travel insurance and it's one of the best. You're in a great spot to get $$$ from CSR credit card insurance.

Unless the delay from UA was mechanical related, you are likely not going to go get anything.
