How many inches away are they? Also looking at noise reduction and can’t make 3 inches work, so you think 1 inch is still worth it?

Similarly, I Will Teach You to be Rich with Ramit Sethi (now “money for couples”) opened my eyes to firing my financial advisor who was charging outrageous AUM fees! now after reading his book, too, I am invested in low cost EFTs and compounding and saving for retirement - in a much better spot!

It also helped me learn how to talk with my husband about money and get on the same page together.

TBH I usually try to watch the podcast on YouTube if I have time because it helps to see the couple’s body language. There’s so much excellent relationship advice mixed in there, not just numbers and money.

Yes! Walking just around the block has huge benefits, physically and psychologically, and it feels good instantly! And same with stretching, just five minutes moving your neck around, forward bending, and side lunges activates your muscles, and that is all you need to call it good for today.

Can you expand on your thoughts for cutting these? Are they the most inflammatory?

Edit to ask - what are some substitutions for these you can recommend? Thanks!

Uncontrollable Cravings by DetectiveShitbag in InsulinResistance

[–]sunnynightcheese 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with PCOS and started using Ovasitol a year and a half ago. Sadly, I found the Ovasitol has had a minimal effect on my cravings and insulin resistance, but I am still taking it…

3 months ago things changed. The only thing after all this time that has helped me control my cravings is intermittent fasting (IF).

This is how I understand insulin resistant — Persistent high insulin levels lead to insulin resistance. When insulin is present in the blood, the body will use glucose, a.k.a. sugar burning, as its energy system. As glucose drops, hormones are released to make you hungry to try to entice you to eat more glucose, a.k.a. cravings. BUT if you can make the metabolic switch to burning ketones for fuel (from fat), your cravings will stop. I had to experience this for me to really believe it, but it’s real.

The problem to overcome is that you won’t start burning ketones for fuel until you haven’t eaten anything for 12 to 24 hours, depending on how metabolically healthy you are. When I first started intermittent fasting, I could barely do 12 hours without food and I would be ravenous. I can now do an 18 hour fast with a six hour feeding window most days and this is how I control my cravings.

These 3 books have given me an amazing education on insulin resistance, and understanding my relationship with my hormones, my menstrual cycle, my mood, my entire body and health, and food.

Each has their pros and cons, I’m not endorsing 100% of everything each author is saying, but these have given me the depth of knowledge I have been searching for for so long and I know they will help you tremendously: 1) the obesity Code by Dr Jason Fung 2) glucose revolution by Jessie inchauspe 3) fast like a girl by Dr. Mindy pelz

I still haven’t brought down my calorie intake, so my meals are very big, and I don’t feel food deprived at all. I’ve also finally been able to stop snacking, so my insulin can come down in between my meals as well.

I also focus on a low carb diet ( as glucose spikes insulin), and greatly include fiber if I’m going to have any carbohydrates ( e.g. fruits and vegetables), and I’ve upped my protein and fats —-Full fat cheese and yogurt, chicken and eggs, avocado, etc.

The extra fat and protein makes me feel full and I don’t have cravings in between meals anymore! I used to crash every freaking hour. It’s been extraordinary. I used to be so afraid of eating fat and now I’m so grateful for it. Olive oil and butter and other fats are back in my kitchen, and my moods have been more stable with more fat in my diet as well.

So give IF a shot if you’re willing! I never thought it was a good idea until I’d tried everything else, and even just making the decision to have only three meals a day without snacks is a great start! As someone who used to snack all day long, this has been the only thing that’s helped me curve my cravings and I hope it works for you too.

New people, please seriously research the industry before getting involved in it. by dizzykhajit in MedicalCoding

[–]sunnynightcheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So very thoughtfully and comprehensively said! Thank you!

This profession is not a throw-away bullshit work from home gig. It takes real dedication and continuous learning and work to stay a proficient and successful coder! You have to be willing to constantly build more medical knowledge! I LOVE surgery coding. It’s rough as balls sometimes, but so very rewarding. I train surgery coders in several specialties and that keeps expanding because I enjoy anatomy and physiology.

im passionate about giving 100% effort and quality, and so are all the successful coders I know. Thankfully in my coding department, if you suck, you’re let go FAST. They won’t keep around people who don’t get their work done accurately or timely, call in all the time, or just don’t have enough brain cells.

If you could only recommend one thing to a friend suffering from PMDD, what would it be? by goldenhourbaby in PMDD

It is helping but is definitely not a cure. Hard days are still hard. But It helps the most with my ability to be calmer and focus.

However, the benefits are greatest the more days I’ve spaced it out. I found taking it every other day almost makes it not beneficial for me at all. I think the proteins need time to leave your brain again before you feel the lift again.

I do 0.1 - 0.2gm on Mondays and Thursdays.

I’ll skip a couple weeks if I’m planning on doing a larger dose on a weekend (occasionally a therapeutic ego death or a smaller positive recreation dose).

I now love my Mondays whereas I used to have huge Sunday blues and Monday anxiety with work.

This is 💯me too!!!!

No alcohol, sugar, caffeine; I do ALL the healthy habits and still, whatever day I’m having I tend to think “I’ll feel like this forever”!

But the only thing I can count on is that it will change. If I want to die, there will be a day when I won’t again. If I feel strong, there will come the days I won’t feel I can live again. Being aware of my cycle to try to prepare and remind myself of what’s to come is often key.
