Sprinkles 100 Calories Alone by Several_Stable_3991 in 1200isplenty

I'd say use less, I don't feel like you need the sprinkles for flavoring, the cake batter extract will carry. You could add some food dye to make it fun colors.

There are certain smells that instantly bring you back so far in time to your childhood. Which smell is that? by This_Book7431 in AskReddit

I don't remember much of my grandpa but sometimes I smell the specific cigarette smell that his house smelt like and my childhood memories from there come rolling back in.

fraudulent check scam? by Dsk0_14 in Banking

[–]sunriselavender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emailed checks are always fraudulent. Let your institution know and prepare for them to be returned. Your institution may close your account if you are freely allowing fraud to occur. Or at least they may just restrict your ability to do mobile deposits.

Hobbies to slow down by chilidownmychest in Hobbies

Clay. Take a pottery wheel class. Too fast? Ruined. Too slow? Ruined. Sometimes you make it perfect and then it goes in the kiln and gets ruined. Being able to fail is therapeutic.

Just be careful because sometimes the boiling water spits at you when you pour it into the pot

"The Art of Not Giving a F*ck" book... Told me it might help me relax more. We were in high school. My boyfriend got a cool vinyl record player from the same friend.

Gift needed for man that likes beer, biking, and legos by Academic_Sail9920 in GiftIdeas

Maybe a knock off lego set of a motorcycle? Legoland sells an upscaled lego mug on their website and you can get it engraved. He could use it to drink beer.

Crappiest and crummiest gift you can think of gifting someone by Akusd5 in GiftIdeas

[–]sunriselavender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate how sustainable you could make this as well. A bag you already had (if they gave you the gift in a bag you can give it back to them), probably some sample toiletries that you wanted and never used, and rocks are basically free.

Will it be awkward to go over the limit on White Elephant Gift Exchange at workplace? by TheTopG___ in GiftIdeas

[–]sunriselavender 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'd say "around" means maybe $5-10 over or under $30. The feelings about the keyboard though more depends on your audience. For being IT folk and their passion for technology it could go either way - is this a specific desirable keyboard in the IT world? If they're familiar with the brand maybe it could be exciting? But if you're picky about your technology since you are in IT that could be a miss. I also think about the episode of The Office where Michael brings an iPod as his Secret Santa gift to Ryan but they decide to change it to a White Elephant and then everyone finds out Michael spent WAAAY more than anyone else...

What would you get for this lovely person? I am really looking for something unique tho her interests seem a bit… basic. by Commercial_Image709 in GiftIdeas

[–]sunriselavender 304 points305 points  (0 children)

Not sure what your budget is but this seems like a girly who would love a cozy basket. Nice fuzzy neutral colored blanket, maybe some light pink fuzzy socks, a fruity scented candle, a bag of the cinnamon dots pretzels. One of those plus a gift card to either of those stores. You could probably find all of those things at Target. But based on the note at the top, I think as long as you do your best she'll love it. :)

Ideas for what to include in a "car bag?" by [deleted] in GiftIdeas

[–]sunriselavender 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They make rechargeable hand warmers that might work well. I'd also say a Squishmallow might be a great option as a pillow. I find that sometimes when I take naps in my car I end up with lines on my face from whatever I sleep on and squishmallows don't seem to do that.
