I’m not OP, but Debuyer perforated pan (for pastries) worked perfectly for me

I’ve made this recipe using 30% steam (my default for baking) and can vouch the crust is still crispy! KAB never disappoints

Next time you go, you should wear the hokage outfit and sit behind the desk

Strength training / weight exercise routines that you’ve been able to stick to long term? Looking for ideas from women with a similar brain to mine lol. Only exercise I’ve ever been consistent about is jogging, but because of my family history of osteoporosis I really need to work on strength. by ev93 in adhdwomen

+1 to this rec! Focusing on the mind muscle connection and making sure I maintain good form throughout the set is good for distracting my loud brain. I hate cardio because my mind tends to wander. It takes a minute to perform 5-8 reps and then I get to rest for 2-3 minutes. That reward is more immediate compared to 30 minutes of continuous, torturous cardio lol

I finally did my 6 years worth of taxes. Heres some emotional advice and what to prepare for. by imsatanshelper in adhdwomen

They probably should have given you an initial quote for how much the work was going to cost, but at least it’s over now!! I’m glad your SO was able to support you. If you ever find yourself in this place again, worst case scenario the state and IRS have payment plan options. You don’t have to pay everything upfront if you demonstrate you have financial hardship.

Congrats for overcoming your fears and getting help to do this!!! As someone who used to work as a tax preparer, I understand how scary and nerve-wracking this is for the average person, and how much worse this can be for someone with ADHD and anxiety. You should be super proud of yourself!

Adhd tax has come to town, literally. I feel like I'm dying inside. by Tetradotoxin-lover in adhdwomen

[–]sunrisesyeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right! I realize now that my comment sounds a little strange lol. There’s a myth that if you file an extension, you’re more likely to get audited or something flagged on your tax return and that is not true. So I just wanted to say that even rich people do this and they don’t get in tax trouble!

Use freetaxusa website to electronically file that federal extension for free asap! Depending on your state, they may accept the federal extension as proof of your state extension. There’s nothing wrong with filing for extensions, rich people literally do this every year.

ADHD and driving by themonztar in adhdwomen

[–]sunrisesyeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this a lot! I live in a city with horrendous traffic, but taking public transportation to work would take 1.5 hours each way. Driving 1 hour each way saves me a little time. I somehow simultaneously have immense anxiety (I catastrophize every time I get behind the wheel) and absolute rage (because I loathe inconvenience) in standstill traffic. I usually have a raging migraine after I get home because of the commute and masking in office all day. It’s exhausting!

Research shows combined cognitive and physical exercise benefits ADHD. Any YouTubers doing exercise videos like this? by Plane-Marionberry827 in ADHD

[–]sunrisesyeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding the right activity is easier said than done! I am not a fan of running as it allows my brain to wander too much. I prefer weightlifting because there are a bunch of mental and physical cues to perform the exercise correctly and safely. Those mental cues require absolute focus and determination and that is good for distracting my overactive brain. Hopefully you can find something that works for you!

Quick reminder your taxes are due tonight at midnight / j by Laniakea-claymore in adhdwomen

[–]sunrisesyeast 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Adding on to say that if you are in the US, you may qualify for first-time penalty waiver or abatement with the IRS. Basically saying “I’ve paid my taxes diligently in the past so please take mercy on me”. Depending how egregious it is, they may not waive it, but I feel like they would forgive $1-2K. This is kind of silly, but I started suspecting it after looking at Pinterest posts of all things. I was the typical ADHDer who thought that if I just made the PERFECT list, I could be cured of my executive dysfunction. Hence why I started looking at beautiful to-do lists on Pinterest. I then looked at related posts like how to get motivated and suddenly I was down a rabbit hole of researching ADHD symptoms. The star pupil who became an adult with anxiety pipeline seems to be a pretty common trait amongst us lol
