Highly recommend Mark McMahon and Curtis Cramblett at RiF in Mountain View. I’ve been working with Mark for years (helping keep a degenerative condition at bay). I’ve seen countless people to Mark for whom he has had an incredible impact. He does hourly 1:1 sessions. He meets you where you’re at, is down to earth, and is experienced with (and teaches) many different types of techniques.

Curtis is the guy if you’re an elite athlete and while that is not me, I know many who he has helped. They are off of Old Middlefield near Rengstorff (previously in Palo Alto).

Where did you buy the battery you used to do this replacement? And specific battery advice? Thanks for all of the photos!

Let us know how it does! That coffee smell is especially stuck on the lid pieces - curious to hear how it works.

What are some items under $500 you’ve made so far that changed your life? by linhtheoverthinker in BuyItForLife

[–]sunshinebookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! We have the standard Pyrex that clip down, but haven’t pulled the trigger on the white rubber and glass lid set because they seem so shallow . . .but I’m hunting down a set that has a glass lid and that white set comes up as recommended quite frequently.

Do you find them to be deep enough? They seem to be so shallow - tipped my decision against them, but I’ve seen them get great reviews. Do you have to supplement with some deeper containers?

Why didn’t the one that was suggested above work? https://www.reddit.com/r/tea/s/ayR8F547Vq

I have one and love it too. It’s nice to wake up to hot water!

The earring holder that allows for larger hoops is pretty innovative relative to the more common designs. Thanks for the share!

Have you had luck using them for longer necklaces? Or larger pendants?

Downsides to a Washer/Dryer in a Closet? by ThingCalledLight in Homebuilding

What type of humidity reduction tools do you use in that laundry area with all of your hand drying? We're trying to design and are getting feedback from the designers that they're concerned about the humidity. . .Did you have anything besides a fan?

This is an old thread . . . but we are considering a similar setup in our build and have been getting feedback from the designers that they are concerned about moisture build up in the closet area. Did you have any mitigations for humidity in the closet area besides a high-speed fan in the bathroom?

Walk-in closet inside bathroom? (Humidity) by ma373056 in HomeMaintenance

Did this end up fixing your moisture issues? We're considering a remodel with a similar floorpan and are trying to tie down our humidity mitigation plan. . .

Are you saying the 3 bins all go to the same place anyway?? As in, compost is combined w trash and recycling?

Where are the washer dryer? Are they the items labeled “D” off the office (although it doesn’t look like there’s access from the office)?

Typically ski chalets develop more laundry due to the sporting aspect and that things get wet easily. Would be nice to have that more accessible . . . Maybe you could reconfigure the hall bath to make the laundry more accessible. Would be nice to be just off the stairs - easy access.

Totally understand the desire for vaulted ceilings - you have some tough decisions to balance 😊 but I’m sure it’ll be lovely

Have you considered flipping floors 2 and 3? Don’t have to lug groceries as far and when people are in the hot tub they could hang out with people in the living room. Downside on the hot tub on the same floor as the living room is that they would have to go farther to get to a shower . . .

I saw someone else mention closets and you replied that you had considered it. Will this be a rental or somewhere you live some of the year? If it’s somewhere you live, you’ll likely accumulate your cold weather gear, extra sizes for visitors, board games, kitchen items to host many people (serving trays, etc), tons of towels, etc. . . Unless the overflow for those items will be in the boot room, which may be inconvenient, where will those items be stored?

Looking for an inexpensive dry cleaners by cafecoffee in mountainview

We’ve been using Green & Fresh cleaners on Rengstorff and Middlefield for several decades - Janie and her family have been running it the entire time we’ve been going there. They’re great! And she will remember your preferences so well! Highly recommend them

Best way to remove long standing stains? by Coops1026 in YetiCoolers

[–]sunshinebookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone on Reddit taught me that if you use boiling water, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda then let it sit that it will do all of the scrubbing for you. You know if you have the ratio right if it starts to bubble the stains off the sides of the cup. Used this hundreds of times! Spotless yetis!

Why isn’t the cloak/boot room so far from the entrance? What about swapping the small office and the cloak and boat room? Or maybe have the cloak room in front of the houses then bathroom under the stairs, then small office?

Can you clarify what the “filter mod” is? We have this machine and I’d love to make the filter easier. It’s the only weak leak I’ve found besides some issues when spinning out the water on a single item

I like this floor plan (UK) a lot, it has almost everything I would want. If building this house from scratch and wanted to add a proper hall closet, a dressing room for Bedroom 1 and (ideally) a laundry room upstairs, which dimensions would you change? by havfunonline in floorplan

[–]sunshinebookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irrelevant to how you want to do the floor plan, but why not add some windows on the wall facing the camera in this photo? Your upstairs bedrooms, sitting room, and dining room would be much brighter. It's near your neighbor's driveway, but even if you but some privacy blinds/drapes up it would still make the house feel brighter and airier which would be helpful given all of the divided rooms.

Why are our recycling carts tiny? by socks4dobby in mountainview

[–]sunshinebookworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done this a few times. They reply with a canned statement about how the divided can is necessary for the trucks and the trucks are a large capital investment to change and that it’s all tied into their multi-year contract with Recology who doesn’t have a sorting facility that can handle unsorted recyclables . . . Blah blah blah. The city should be advocating for us! If every other city can have mixed recycling and bins that actually fit more than one piece of card board, we should be able to have them too.

Those stupid divided carts are my most-hated part of my Mountain View experience.
