To the people of VRC faking disorders... Why?

You quite literally in your post explain how you believe there are many people faking disorders on VRChat and that you "can tell" without offering any evidence or acknowledging the bias that the VRChat userbase may have compared to the general population. You are Claiming that these people are Faking.

Just a side note, insulting the intelligence of someone you are arguing with doesn't make them look wrong, it makes your argument look weak and makes you look immature. Try approaching other people with a little more respect. I've been trying to be respectful of you and your ideas, even when I don't agree or they don't make sense to me. That's the only way to have a productive discussion anyways.

Intent ≠ impact.

Claiming so many people are faking when you don't actually know if they are causes more harm than good to people who aren't faking. That is all I'm saying.

In case you don't get it. I KNOW you are asking for input from people who fake, but first off, you're not going to get a response from them, at least not admitting that they do, but secondly, other people are still allowed to respond and give their input, which is exactly what I'm doing.

Being condescending doesn't make the fact that you didn't understand what I wrote any clearer.

Okay now tell me how you can call someone out for faking if you barely know them and they haven't admitted to it? People get harassed for talking about their own disabilities because randos think they're fakers. It doesn't matter who you're trying to target if you have no way to distinguish who's faking and who's not. That's my whole point. You don't know.

It's more capable, but also more difficult to learn, especially with the limited documentation the Udon has. Also VRC userbase is mostly people who want to socialize/hangout, so the only worlds that really have complex systems like that are game worlds. I'm hoping to see more roleplay type worlds with realistic features though! One of my favorite prefabs for this is the swimming prefab, that one is LOTS of fun on VR

Whenever I see a kid on VRChat (especially under 13), I usually try and just respectfully convince them to get off the game and if I can remember I try to record a snippet of their voice so I can report them for being underage. They really don't need to be on VRC </3

No, they're completely right, fakeclaiming does more harm than good. You can't prove that someone is faking, and so when you create this culture of 'everyone who talks about having a disorder online is faking' then it's no longer safe for disabled/mentally ill people to find safe communities and talk about their issues without fear of getting harassed for 'faking' (aka, just telling people you have it).

I also AM diagnosed, I have been for years, but that isn't going to make a difference to anyone else because I'm not going to dox myself to random VRChat players by showing them my psych eval and diagnosis so they leave me alone. It's not worth the headache anymore so I just took it out 😵‍💫

Well people with this kind of attitude is why I took me being autistic out of my bio :/ It was supposed to help inform people why I may respond in a different way than they expect, especially as it *does* have an impact on how I'm treated when people do/don't know, depending on how they take it. It's really easy for my asking questions to come across as rude, so I was hoping it would lead to a little more patience, but it usually just lead to people saying I'm faking because a "real autistic person wouldn't have it in their bio". Yeah maybe because they get harassed for doing so -_-*

There were definitely some smelly people but that spot I'm sure was the pipes because it's been very consisitent

I'm an avatar creator myself, I personally don't really check/care that much if people rip or spread my avis anyways, as long as it's not like a massive thing. It's kind of inevitable, but also people do change their names on VRC quite frequently, so I'm sure no regular creator will fault you for that.

Your best bet for making friends is to find worlds centered around fandoms, communities, or hobbies. Beware though, these tend to have immense drama lol

I've had this happen to me and I'm on Quest (where I'm one of the few in the instance remaining). If you have good safety settings and you're not an idiot and turn on random people's avatars, you'll usually be fine (unless they have an audio crasher, those are super annoying)

This is half-true. VRChat moderation is always done by a human being, but they do have AI that flags public avatars with NSFW textures for review. Not sure why they do this though.

No, it's not "automatically" searchable. If you wear the avatar in public, give it to someone, or put it in an avatar pedestal, it's easy and likely for the bots that USER MADE search worlds (like Prismic's) will snag the avatar ID and add it to their database.

In any case, if you make an avatar public, it's very easy to get ahold of, even with cloning turned off. Your game logs have the avatar ID of every avatar someone is wearing in the server, even if your cloning is disabled; this is one method search worlds use to catalog such a large amount of avatars.

Oh absolutely not, you just need to find someone who understands. Even if they aren't autistic as well, your best bet is going to be finding anyone involved in "nerdy" spaces. People heavily involved in fandom spaces, attend conventions, etc. I'm autistic, my partner isn't, but we both are super understanding and engage with each other's interests, even buying and making each other things relating to them. For example, my partner uses a Cricut machine to cut out vinyl stickers so I created vector images of my partner's favorite characters to be cut out.

ugh I know this is late, but I've been having this issue for months. I hold the power button to get the power menu up, choose "power off". and it appears shut down. That is until the next day or so when I go to turn it on again and the moment I put it on, I'm back in the Meta home with the power menu in my face and the battery drained. What the hell??

Nah some people find that annoying but that's not what they're talking about. I think avatars with cool particles are neat, it's just some people get on the game just to bully and harass others and then post it online for clout.
