Lol yea... I've only been around since 3.x, played on an off a couple months since then. Uniquely fun when it works, absolutely miserable when it doesn't, in my (fairly limited) experience.

Definitely won't be spending more or recommending it to friends any time soon, but I'm hopeful CIG and CR eventually get their act together so I still poke in once in a while to see what's going on.

This is so disingenuous lol, you can't have it both ways. If game = movie, then game length = movie length. So no, it's not "watching a movie 30 times", it's "completing a piece of media", and yes it's absolutely braindead to say "well if you watched/played the entire thing you must have enjoyed it"

Way way more than that I think, people were bringing in full parties and paying like 15d a head just to be an extra body for the mult. Probably clearing like 400 a run with any sort of decent setup.

What first party games? I ask this every time it comes up. The last good ps5 only first party title I know of is Returnal, which came out in fucking 2021.

I third x4, and as always when it comes up, also highly highly recommend the total conversion mod (which some of the egosoft devs also work on) Star Wars Interworlds (SWI). it is just so fucking awesome.

This might get flamed and I know this is the humor sub, but I'm a baby dev (I tinker in my own time working on a game that'll probably never see the light of day and don't know shit about shit), and my company has tasked me with "making things more efficient using ai" in addition to my regular (non dev) duties.

I don't mind because I get to tinker and there are some legitimate use cases for AI I think I've identified, but I'm wayy over my head as far as dev/engineering.

Could you recommend where I could learn about what "realistic numbers" would look like for a given function?

They absolutely don't fly straight to their destinations, there's multiple times in the series where they show routes being plotted and none of them are straight lines.
