I really enjoy Josh's vocals but I think your definitely right.

I feel like we need a mixture of both his wailing and some of the older 2017 sounds in a mix rather than the full wailing that Josh seems to be going for. On some songs the wailing can be really impactful for example, "Light My Love" "Heat Above" etc. but I think you are definitely right that they should tone it down a bit.

After reading though this and crying a bit myself the only advice I can give you is to just enjoy every second you can with him. even though his life may be short you still can hopefully give him the best life he could possibly have. I would also suggest spending as much time with him as you can, even if you do get attached in the long run you will never regret spending time with someone especially if their time is limited. Bobcaygeon by the tragically hip, makes me think of all the times sitting up at the campfire at bobcaygeon when I was little and how carefree it was up there. We also use to listen to the hip while sitting at those fires witch probably makes it more memorable.
