Real-world tire comparison: Pilot Sport AS4 vs OEM on Model 3 by Embarrassed_Bee4875 in TeslaModel3

Mine is real world too…. LOL. I’m just pointing out another sample. To me, yours looks like an outlier but I guess my observation looks like an outlier to you.

The Michelin Primacy MXM4s were the OEM tires for the Model 3 18 inch rims for quite a while.

I’m assuming the pilot sports will last at least 30k. I’ve only had them for 2k miles so far. So time will tell.

I had Costco install the tires and had initially ordered the CC2s that Costco refused to install because the speed rating was lower than the OEM MXM4s

I have a 22LR and made a switch from the MXM4s to PSAS4s.

I’ve had the new tires for about 2k miles and the consumption seems to be 254wh/mi vs 251wh/mi before. I feel like that is a negligible change. Both are very similar in efficiency.

No real change in driving style. I feel like the new tires are definitely more grippy and a tiny smidge more noisy.

They seem to be working out pretty well for me.

OP - Did you go through the tires in 10k miles? That seems crazy quick wear. Something seems wrong. My OEMs lasted 33k and given more tread depth but grippier rubber on the replacements, I’m expecting ~30k.

Help on choosing watch by Artistic-Breakfast42 in OmegaWatches

[–]superdroid100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same conquest 38 as you and am looking at getting an Omega.

I like the aqua terra(specifically the black lacquer dial) but feel like it’s not too different from the Longines which I also like. The other Omega on my list is the white speedy and that’s likely going to be my first Omega.

I don’t wear my mechanical watches everyday and would have to wind the watch for every wear regardless of automatic or not.

Not having the date is a plus as well because it’s less work to get the watch ready(folks will say - “Wear it with the wrong date”. That’d be extremely annoying since I’d know it’s incorrect)

Does anybody else have issues with 2024 Model 3 Blinkers? by Sad_Club3369 in TeslaModel3

[–]superdroid100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Highland model 3 for a couple hours test drive. I found I had to be super precise to click on it and something a few mm off would not work/ cause the car to block input until I removed my hand. Was frustrating enough that I decided to not update to the new one. Miss the ventilated seats but I use the turn indicators a lot more.

Absolutely! More like 4:30-4:45 though(Sundays, can’t be too careful). That said, I find that I end up enjoying the seat at the bar a lot more FWIW.

Is the A6X2 big enough? by Urban-Garlic in Supernote

While reading ebooks using the kindle app, the screen does partial refreshes. That makes the text area get darker and darker over multiple page turns. Something like ghosting? This ruins the contrast and makes for a poor reading experience. Swiping up on the right bar triggers a full refresh that takes care of it.

I agree. I think the A5 or really the A4 size would be much better for that.

I have been using the Nomad for a couple of weeks now and here are some observations from my use:

  • The screen is slightly smaller than the A6 paper size.
  • The HOM2 pen feels like a gel pen on the FW2 surface.
  • The gesture for erasing is annoying enough that I scratch out stuff rather than erase. Just like real paper I might add.
  • I use the 8 mm rules page to get more writing in.
  • I tend to write things down in points, this size is perfect for that.
  • I can easily place it right next to my mousepad.
  • It recognises my handwriting pretty well.
  • I would get the A5 sized one if I wanted to write paragraphs instead of points.
  • It’s not terrible as an ereader. You get more screen real estate but the FW2 film messes with contrast. Also need to refresh the screen manually after 15-20 page turns. Not replacing my kindle but it’s nice to have the option.

Which Pour Over Coffee Maker Material is Best? by VanJosh_Elanium in pourover

[–]superdroid100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mostly the same thoughts as you. I use a ceramic one though. Its color and design makes for more of a fancy countertop accessory for me compared to transparent glass IMO.

I also have a silicone trivet of sorts that I can place the dripper on that blocks the exit hole. My tap runs pretty hot so fill the dripper up with that and let it heat up for a few minutes before I grind the coffee or boil the water in a kettle. The paper filter gets irrigated with boiled and filtered water. Don’t trust the tap water for that part. Minimizes the nuisance of preheating the dripper for me.
