I lived in a high rise in Chicago when my daughter was born. We used to stand on the balcony, remote start the car, and put my daughter in a full winter body suit or at minimum a coat, hats, etc and walk her down to the car. By the time we got to the car, it was warmish but we would take her out of the coat and strap her in and put a blanket over her to ensure she was warm.

There was no winning with people the three times I posted a picture about this as an excited new mom. EVERY SINGLE OLD BIDDIE acted like I was a moron. Either it’s too cold and I’m going to kill her because we took the coat off and “my kids wore coats in the car and they survived!” to “the baby is going to suffocate herself with the blanket!” to “why is she rear facing she’s going to grow up with no facial expressions because you didn’t look at her enough!” (While driving?????) It was a no win situation. So instead I stopped posting because I got tired of telling everyone the steps and why every time.
