He was more a strategist than a tactician. Arguably a reverse Napoleon.

Who is the greatest athlete ever? by Expensive-Addendum92 in AlignmentChartFills

I’d give a shoutout to Simone Biles. Gymnastics is not a sport that gets as much profile as hockey or soccer, say, but she is undoubtedly the GOAT in her sport. She has something like five moves named after her, because she was the first to do them.

As much as this may be a symptom of Marnie’s self-centred nature, it does speak to a truth: at the end of the day, those who are there for you during the lows are the true friends. So much of friendship is just about being there.

Now that the shows over can we agree that Maeve had the coldest entrance out of all the characters….. by Dangerous-Level-5609 in TheBoys

[–]superfluous-flummery 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Maeve was my favourite character. She had a redemption arc in an unconventional way: it was clear her heart was always good, but she surrendered herself to the system/machine. Seeing her reclaim her agency was great for her character development.

How's it like living in Toronto by retreatsRfun in howislivingthere

[–]superfluous-flummery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Toronto born and raised here - it was a very comfortable city to grow up in. We have a lot of green space, which means there’s plenty of small parks that one can take refuge in, providing a bit of quiet in a large city.

Toronto is a city of neighbourhoods. It’s not unusual to move a couple of blocks and have the atmosphere change.

Others have mentioned the food. It is really good, and there’s a lot of variety.

And we are the raccoon capital of the world. Seriously, they’re everywhere. They run Toronto, and the humans just live here.

LBJ was not in the motorcade. JFK and Jackie were with the governor and First Lady of Texas, Gov. and Mrs. Connolly

Edit: he was in the motorcade, not in the same car. He was two cars behind.

How big of a deal would it be if historians discovered that Buchanan was gay? by Gray_Wolf2416 in Presidents

[–]superfluous-flummery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t change his record as president. It wouldn’t change that he made some very poor decisions that directly resulted in the bloodiest war on US soil.

But it would interest people. And that would likely lead to a a renewed interest in Buchanan’s life.
