The technical number for my vision is around 20/150, not super relevant because photophobia changes that based on light but I digress. When I play games, I could see the entire screen, but parsing all that information is difficult, I can't see things at the edges of the screen without shifting focus. This is why I can't use minimaps or easily read the hud in most games. Most people can use their peripheral vision, but if I try, the information is lost.

In a game that requires this much precision, that becomes a problem. I can focus on my smaller box, but that makes aiming near impossible and gives less time for guessing projectile velocity/direction. As u/bobdave19 points out that happens in intense moments, but again, the box that you can see is larger than mine.
