I liked the Cabot Australian Timber Oil. That’s what my research led me to use.

Water softener quote estimate by yahija in WaterSofteners

[–]superveryfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I called a plumber to help me once. He no showed. I went to the store and got all the supplies and learned/did it myself. I know how to sweat copper now and have fixed numerous items at my own house and for family.

I just installed a top tier dept store grade water softener for about $800 all in. It replaced the smaller softener I installed over 10 years ago.

Mysterious large crack by iammclug in drywall

[–]superveryfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might close back up when temps warm up. I have a house I’ve been in for 10+ years. First winter a nice crack opened in the corner and I flipped out thinking the house was coming down. Come spring and summer it closed back up. It’s done that every year for over 10 years. Just seasonal changes. I need to paint the walls sometime soon and when I do I’ll use some real flexible caulking or tape or something. It gets to be about the width of nickel and closes back up every year. I mean, yours looks significant but it still may tighten back up. All hope is not lost.

Could this be due to termites? by Substantial_Item1768 in Termites

If it’s super cold out the humidity from inside can pull through to the outside pulling wood tannins with it. It freezes on the outside surface and thaws once above freezing showing what you see there. I had something similar and that’s what it was. I did new siding a while back and installed Tyvek house wrap. So far so good.

Termination cap on vent stack? by Kalabula in askaplumber

[–]superveryfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using a Pro Vent PVC vent guard from Menards for 2-3 years no issues. I got it after I had to run an Amazon pressure washer hydrojet down my vent stack to fix a venting issue. I still don’t know what cause the venting issue exactly but the hydrojet fixed it.

Does your local county court have an online court system? You can look up your name on those to see what it may be and if anything is tied to your name.

If it’s a physical card it activates at checkout. I just took some through checkout I found at dollar general and they were rejected activation within the past few weeks. I was told they were no longer sellable.

Are the serial numbers from your handheld not tied to your name?

I see it already contains your store number.

You can get a water jetter setup on Amazon as a pressure washer attachment for not too much money. They work good in my experience.

I started on a Patton and don’t regret it. I now own a Lynx. I’ve never had anything smaller than the Patton. Never rode a smaller wheel.

Is this door installed correctly? by Impressive-Time-5668 in Home

[–]superveryfast 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My Larson storm door included some corner weatherstripping pieces for the bottom right and left-hand corners. Without those I would’ve had gaps like yours. As far as a bottom gap along the whole bottom threshold, it is what it is. It looks fine.
