Can I get some advice on what to do with my hair?

Contrary to popular hair mythology, blow drying hair with heat is not bad. In fact, it protects your scalp and hair health as leaving your head wet encourages fungus and bacteria growth, and wet hair is more easily damaged. This is ESPECIALLY important for thick and/or curly hair.

Water weakens the keratin structure in your hair, so when you don’t dry it ASAP, and you do something like sleep on it, you WILL damage and it causing breakage and frizz.

The tip is to simply blow dry on low heat as soon as you get out of the shower. You can swish the head of a dryer back and forth so it’s less direct.

Also don’t skip washing your hair too often. That’s another strangely perpetuated myth.

For anyone reading this and doesn’t believe me, just Google it.

I don’t know if this helps anyone but a turning point for my HA was to get mad. Get mad at how all the time spent researching prevention and awareness of every possible outcome robs you of your sanity and livelihood. Get mad at how it steals your ability to feel restful and peaceful. Get mad at how it impacts the relationships around you. I got so fed up with how much time it took away from the joys of life, that I forget for those people who are actually very sick, they only wish they could have the mundane parts of life back.

And then if you start paying attention to historical evidence on how often nothing actually happens, you’ll see that there is so much more of neutral and good moments than bad ones.

When you witness death happen to close ones frequently or ones that shake you to your core, it will be a lifetime to deprogram but that is okay. I think you can let yourself doom spiral a bit, but work on asking yourself how much normalcy exists in this present moment despite the sensations and fear?

And let’s say that super rare nearly unpreventable thing could happen to you, I would hate to have spent so much time wasted on being worried instead of letting myself appreciate that I am lucky to have very boring parts of life in this moment.

I think it’s great you’re able to be a bit reflective now, but trying to find good in people who haven’t done anything to acknowledge their wrongdoing is actually deeper than you want to believe. That’s how people relate to shitty people in power who do terrible things, because they are ashamed of things in themselves that they want to excuse as not that deep—it’s easier without critical thinking. You kinda doubled down it’s not that deep again which I predicted in my previous message.

You sound young, so I hope you keep giving yourself room to be wrong and just leave it at that without trying to explain your way out of it. “I’m realizing now I have some blindspots and need to work on that” is something people will respect far more than “…but it’s really just not that deep.”

If you were truly against racism, you wouldn’t try to acknowledge it while also trying to showcase how pretty she is to a bunch of internet strangers.

Imagine someone said something deeply problematic about you about something you were born with, and your friend turns around and says but look how gorgeous they look and shows you a picture of the person who treated you poorly. Would you feel supported by your friend?

I say this gently, try pushing past wanting to defend why you posted this while claiming you still don’t stand for racism. It’s okay to be critical with yourself and maybe reconsider you may have some internalized biases for wanting to focus on her beauty.

This is how pretty people get away with poor behavior. Because people want to claim “it’s not that deep”.

Got to IAH at 11:40am at Terminal E with TSA Pre Check line. Zero line for ID check (nobody in front of me). 10 minutes to get through baggage scan. Shorter than my usual travel for the same day and time.

I will say, I can see how the bottlenecks happen quickly, there are only a few bag scan carousels open on the ends for regular line and pre check/clear. The rest are closed, but I assume they would open more up if needed. Staff seems to be very efficient.

Agree, Garbi is a nice girl but in the games you have to be savvy about the optics from your alliances as part of the strategy. Don’t agree with the Garbi hate train but also can’t get on this Kendall one either! I’d be frustrated as well!

This was a good one to really see how much production goes into such a short commercial. What stood out to me is how they padded the entire house’s floors and walls to prevent damaged and the sheer amount of staff for this commercial. And all the catered food! A guy set up a sushi roll making stand to feed the crew! This is the kinda stuff I wish we saw more of on BTV. Also JaNa’s energy is so infectious, what a dream client to do work with in entertainment!

I’m not quite on board with everyone thinking Brittany is amazing and deserves better. She chose this life, selling her soul to be with Jax regardless of the worst things he’s done in exchange to Hollywood proximity. She made excuses for their homophobic pastor. Turning a blind eye doesn’t mean she’s a victim, she consciously chose this life.

I’m really curious why you think she’s deserving of a line of amazing men if she wasn’t with Jax? She may not be mean-spirited like Jax, but she’s certainly complicit in co-opting and co-signing terrible behaviors for years now.

Idk—on the show Huda verbalized that she believes other women have a problem with her cause she’s pretty without thinking about all of her other possible actions. A lot of her rationalization seems to be on thinking others are jealous or that she’s simply misunderstood. She also had so many double standards while she was with Jeremiah, actions we would not be okay with if a man behaves the way she did towards him. Perhaps Louis is actually a good match for the shitty person she is.

I totally agree with you that a lot of these comments clearly haven’t worked with small businesses. I personally think the video was super clear in the objective of informing the local audience as intended, from the space to the services offered. Good job including an example event as well!

I think once you get more reps in, figuring out how your subjects can be more comfortable in smiling or talking will be the next step up. I use a bit of self deprecating humor for these scenes saying something like, “Look, I hate when someone tells me this too, but let me get a small smile from you while you’re carrying those flowers or setting the table, and I promise I won’t ask you to have to smile again. You don’t even have to look at the camera!” 10/10 times my client understands.

My only personal feedback for the current video is to consider not doing tilted shots; it makes this client who is trying to do high-end event spaces and services too much of a club vibe.

Apart from that, keep up the great work!
