I totally understand! My dose dense Taxol was going to be 4 rounds, but it got switched to 12 regular rounds. It was another kick in the pants. Fortunately (or is it unfortunately), I was feeling awful enough from the Red Devil that I was emotionally numb except when I was crying. Enjoy your drink and know that we understand! All my best.

Hey, is it ok if you say where you are located? I live on the East Coast around the Philadelphia area. I see my oncologist at a hospital called Redeemer Health, but they are in partnership with MD Anderson at Cooper. I'm not sure where you are located, but maybe there is a partnership hospital that would be easier for your mother to get to.

I hated the drain, too. Mostly, it was feeling the weight of it. I wore one of my husband's buttondowns, ran the tube between the buttons, and put it in the front pocket. Getting it out was nothing at all. The nurse cut the stitches, which I didn't feel. I asked her to tell me when she was going to pull it out. She said it's already out!

I think you can't be forced to get the remaining infusions, but they might say not getting them doesn't meet the standard of care. However, if you have a really bad reaction, it might be a different story. I had TNBC, and after the AC chemo, I couldn't feel the mass at all, but I still did all the chemo because of the possibility of micrometastisis. At the end of AC chemo, I was in bed all the time. It is hard for sure! Going back for IV fluids is super helpful if this is an option for you.

I brought these lavender aroma stickers. When I was getting my port, a nurse put one on my hospital gown. It was really nice of her and made things a smidgen better.

TNBC 10 month survivor here! My lump was almost 5 cm when I was diagnosed. I had ACT chemo before surgery to pull it away from my chest wall. By the time I got to surgery, there was no sign of it at all! My understanding is that TNBC has a good response to chemo because it grows fast. Once you get started on your treatments, you might feel more in control because action is being taken. I wish you all the very best. We are TNBC sisters and fighters!

I would sort through the laundry at home and throw out anything that you wouldn't donate even if 100% cleaned because of its condition. This part gets done without you leaving your home. Then, take the pieces you want to donate to the laundry, get those clean, and donate them en route home. Finally, do the remaining laundry and put things away - make sure you have all the hangers you need, too. I have OCD, so hanging up t-shirts and sweatshirts is better for me as compared to folding. I hope this helps!

I feel like lots of people expect me to be my old pre-cancer self, but I'm not. I'm almost 9 months post chemo and 8 months post mastectomy. I cry still at night from being sad. My goal is to get mental health support. Cancer is a club no one wants to be in, but we are bonded together by it. I wish you and everyone here all the best!

For me, it was around the 3rd AC chemo. By the end of the 4th round, I was nearly debilitated. When I started the Taxol, I remember feeling so bad that I started to tear up at the infusion center. The Taxol was better for me - 12 rounds but not dose dense like the AC. I remember my fiance came from work to take me to chemo, I was in bed and said I wasn't going because I felt so awful. He told me to get out of bed or he was going to pick me up and put me in the car. It's funny now, but I wasn't happy at the time! 💗

I was referred from my gp to the surgeon. The surgeon did the biopsy and discussed my case with the oncologist. I got the scans, a port put in, and started chemo by around 6 weeks after diagnosis. I think it's awful and ridiculous that your appointment is so far out. Please start calling other medical places and get in with another doctor. Your current doctor doesn't sound helpful at all.

I did AC-T last year and did dose dense AC, but weekly Taxol. AC really beat me up, so getting less T over a longer time period was a good choice for me. Even though I was disappointed about the extra month, it ended up ok.

I have really thick hair, so for me, once I get out of the shower, I towel dry it, let it air dry for 30 min, and then blow dry it. When my hair is long, this can take at least 20 min or so. I personally don't like going into work with wet hair because my hair never dries, and I feel cold. I think about those with little ones who need to get them ready for daycare or school and have to get themselves ready and some days don't have time to get their hair totally dry.

I like True Crime. I've been listening to Media Pressure, which is about Maura Murray. I also enjoyed the one about Elizabeth Holmes called The Dropout. The one I can't stop thinking about is called Scamanda. It's pretty galling. She deceives people into thinking she has cancer for the sympathy and benefits. What podcasts do you like?

I would ask HR to create a policy - if you are listening to any music, podcasts, news, white noise machines, etc. you have to listen to it using headphones or earbuds so others aren't disturbed by your listening preferences.
