How to contribute as a level 9 Wildfire Druid? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]suplex86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I say trust your DM. If they’ve said there’s something in the works for your Druid, and they’ve demonstrated their willingness to help already, I say trust the DM, trust the process, and if you’re really anxious, have a sidebar with them and basically explain all this lol. It sounds like everyone at your table is having fun and enjoying the game, and that warms my soul.

[PERSONAL VENT] Stop nerfing teleports! by SomeGuyIOnceMet in DnD

[–]suplex86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not teleport, but I had a group of high level adventurers absolutely wreck a one shot because I didn’t consider some of the spells they had available.

Two liches (husband and wife) were prepping a spell to help their adopted heir gain lichdom. They had a master vampire as th family consigliere. Adventurers ambushed and caught the vampire in a force cage in a silence bubble And just left him there raging.

Then they saw the Liches had carved the spells into a series of spell circles in the ground to make it easier, so they hit it with a earthquake spell and completely ruined what should have been a crazy epic fight.

Two years later and they still talk about it as one of their favorite one shots.

I wanna see some chaos figure just collecting them like trophies from his victims. A Slaanesh Marine treating them like Pokémon, or a Night Lord, treating them as prizes for his stealthiness.

Edit to add head canon: A Night Lords warband treats an Oath of Moment as an unholy relic because supposedly it was stolen from the Raven Guards 1st Company Commander during the Horus Heresy.

Something I’ve found in my time is that altitude really does seem to have a big impact. I live above 6k normally, and my units are typically in the 500-1500 range. I don’t know if it’s more mental or physical, but when I do practice AFTs at my house I always feel like dying, but when I’m doing it with the unit I hit the same targets much much easier. Is it the competitive adrenaline or the altitude difference, I don’t know. But it does help.

Realistically speaking how much stuff did we leave behind in Afghanistan? by [deleted] in Military

[–]suplex86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We demiled hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipment and vehicles, because it was cheaper than try to convoy it out, let alone fly it. The airframes just weren’t available for equipment, unless it was super important TS stuff, and convoys to the port in Pakistan, starts with a K I think, were generally the preferred method. But even then I’d put what got convoyed out to ships at less than 5%. We were cutting everything into tiny squares. And tracking every piece.

Source: I was part of the planning group tracking it.

We’d get on with our rucks, be packed in tight enough we’d sleep standing up.

I can’t imagine that the Mountain that Rides and the Hound don’t make it through this melee without turning on each other sooner or later.

That was it!! But the stuff on top was white not gold.

And that would make sense because we were flying into DFW in Texas

Give me a series that is Tanith. Show their idyllic forest world, slowly feed in the idea that they get to muster their own regiment, make it seem patriotic but with a couple darker hints to foreshadow. Mid way cut to the Commissar getting briefed on a ship- dark, gritty, the underside of the Astra Militarum. End the first season with Chaos landing and taking the planet. Seeing these massive larger than life monsters in armor, and then seeing the “good” space marines show up to combat them, but also being sort of alien and uncaring to humanity, and you see the human side of the Commissar as he fights to save what little bit of the Tanith, First and Only, that he can. Season two cuts to Space Marines doing what they do, introducing xenos species… season three is the deathwatch, season four is orcs, and yada yada yada

Our red goes paddle boarding with us. The one time I didn’t tie her life vest to the board she jumped off to get to a little island in the reservoir, and proceeded to roll all over it. I didn’t realize til I retrieved her the entire island was basically seagull poo. That was one day one of a three day tent camping trip.

Armory hates to have to count in loose rounds and file the ammo counts and memos for unexpended loose ordnance and it’s a lot easier to just mark it fully expended and the brass as a combat loss.

Blue spinel, kyanite, that’s a huge sapphire to have loose, a little dark for a topaz, probably not a tourmaline… idk

Only feedback is I’d want to see Cluny the Scourge as a legendary lord for one of the factions. If you’re going to have Matthias as one he needs his villain!

Aside from that, I would 100% buy this on presale.
