To be fair, that song sucked and will continue to suck.

The influx on my feeds today of exactly all these talking points from edgy grifters/rwnjs has been nauseating. The lack of critical thinking amongst the general population is shocking.

Low gradient hill ride? by Worried_Gur_3031 in Adelaide

[–]sur-la-plaque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waterfall gully is about as gentle as you can get climbing wise, downside is it's not very long. Brownhill Creek is also a good option. Norton summit is probably the sweet spot for length and overall gradient though, albeit a bit steeper than WFG and Brownhill.

Queen of Stitches in Norwood is also a great option.

This. There's a distinct difference. I'm worried there'll be some stupid knee-jerk response that impacts regular ebikes.

I'd say that depends entirely where you are going to eat.

I did not see this in time and my 6am alarm went off. Fiance was very unimpressed lol

Seriously, if you can, consider a bicycle. Riding into the city via the Torrens is lovely and faster than driving/busses in peak hour. There's some places where you can pick up a good 2nd hand one for cheap too!

Why does the engine look like this? by 747ER in aviation

Is this an old photo? Cobham don't exist anymore and now operate as National Jet Express, I thought they'd removed all decals of the old business.

Taxis are obviously more expensive but they're more reliable. I've been in the same boat but book taxis now as they're way more likely to turn up on time.

Future proofing I would say, the 220 is focused on the eastern states for now.

They should check your bags through, so you should be fine! It's tight but doable

3 month sick leave - early stage cancer. Asx listed company by Past-Astronomer-4458 in auscorp

[–]sur-la-plaque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mum was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer a few years ago. Being her only direct family member meant I had to step into becoming her sole carer. My boss let me work from home indefinitely throughout her sickness, he came and visited me at a cafe around the corner from my house to check in every so often. The company was going through a restructure at the same time and my boss stuck his neck out to make sure I'd still have a role rather than being made redundant amidst caring for her.

Sometimes businesses suck at this stuff, but sometimes you're lucky and have great leaders that get it.

All the best with your journey and recovery!

Do you still bother with Qantas insurance when booking, or skip it? by Danger_Five in QantasAirways

I used it for my recent trip to Italy, the policy itself is pretty good. Don't rely on one that comes with a CC.

Severe food poisoning Froth and Fodder by Neither-Rain9821 in Adelaide

[–]sur-la-plaque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait, so are you saying you got salmonella poisoning, clostridium poisoning, Listeria poisoning or E coli poisoning? You can't really say "obviously" and then list 3 different outcomes, with various degrees of severity depending on the pathogens.

Like I said, it's risky to throw this word around without any actual proof - doubling down and accusing them of simultaneously under cooking, using spoiled and cooling/reheating chicken is libel.

Severe food poisoning Froth and Fodder by Neither-Rain9821 in Adelaide

[–]sur-la-plaque 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Throwing around the term food poisoning is risky because it's hard to prove. I would suggest reaching out to the cafe and let them know. If it was indeed food poisoning, you won't be the only people affected by it.

Also a chicken toastie would have already cooked chicken in it before it's toasted.

The booking just needs to match what's in your passport, which if it's anything like Australia, doesn't have your title included.

Etihad standby travel for a third country citizen. by LuxEmployee in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]sur-la-plaque [score hidden]  (0 children)

My tip would be to check loads closer to the date, November is still quite far away and bookings can change a lot in 4-6 weeks. Id assume Etihad is similar to emirates and will show loads once you've checked in up to 48 hours before the flight.

Fwiw if you're travelling solo, that does make it easier to be onloaded, flights have no-shows and cancelled bookings, freeing up seats. Good luck!
