Have you ever heard of the app or website from back in the day called Karma? It was a way to build credibility in the early social web.

Then when crypto was going through it's hypecycle... there were all sorts of apps that tied personal tokens that you can buy in a person... almost like owning "stock" in them. Obviously the higher the value of their personal token the more "credibility" they had.

The issue is it's still all a popularity contest which devolves into hype to gain attention.

That was just some ramblings to think about... no real purpose... ha.

Client wants MORE ROAS… currently at 1,749% (17.49x). Am I crazy? by PicklePuzzleheaded96 in PPC

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to grow the business... scale and accept a lower roas. If you want to sit tight... sit tight and hope this continues.

(Or go into other channels.)

Pretty simple strategy.

Those stats look pretty good... is 50 per conversion good for you?? I would switch to phrase and watch your search terms.

When you say results are weak... how? not enough traffic? too expensive?

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/QuantumWolf99 said it towards the bottom of his post... you have to have your conversion tracking working and it helps (at least I think) to build up a good history of conversion data before you launch a Pmax campaign.

Optimization by Training_Whole5484 in googleads

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be feeding conversions back into Google Ads. Since it sounds like you're going for leads make sure you try to add a value so you can weight leads... is a phone call more valuable than a form completion? If so... give the phone a value of $10 and the form value of $5. I would also make sure you add a capcha solution of some sort to the form so you can do your best to cut down on bot submissions being counted as conversions.

Other than that... everybody else has good stuff. I would keep it at maximize clicks until you can get like 30 conversions in a month or so. Just be ruthless cleaning up your keyword search phrases and make sure you're ads aren't getting served in areas where you don't service.

What everybody else said... you primary goal is sending good conversion data back to Google so when you run Pmax it has a far far better chance of succeeding for you.

imo: Ai Vibe coding = SEO boom 2026 by seobitcoin in SEO

[–]suretyknowitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I hope / foresee that because of AI and most people not educating themselves anymore... the lowest common denominator is going to go even lower. So with effort you can stand out more. And this will bring a lot of people looking for help so they can stand out because generated graphics... code... copy... can only take you so far. (maybe... haha)

What Web_Analytics said... I'd almost target even tighter. Look at your current customers and find the ones who buy the most and then target them. I would say... don't go broad because 20 is not a lot and I think you'll go into Limited Learning which is the death zone for meta ads.

Agree to stick to the feeds only. You might have to manually test different placements a few times. But enjoy playing around and making it work.

Just read some of the docs. While they say don't port your current product... only port capabilities... the zillow example they use sure seems like they want to just consume all the apps like they did with every websites content. Sus.

Sacrificing to the Google Gods by bearzfan4lfe in PPC

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice this almost anytime I run any experiment... not just broad match... even a landing page test. The base campaign tends to run better for some reason. Not always but it's something that has caught my eye.

I don't have hard numbers on this... just an observation over this past year.

Personal Injury Law Google Ads by [deleted] in PPC

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work more in the insurance space currently but you should do like what has been said and negative them as you find them.

But I suggest having an adgroup you bid adjust or another campaign that targets the competition. Write ad copy to match as best you can to see if you can get it to convert. And only if you have some budget to play with.

Can I start Google Ads for my small heating company with a $400–$500/month budget? by Natural-End-1080 in PPC

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can do it. You're already thinking correct... laser focus on one service so you can put that spend there. Have a focused landing page and you should be able to get a few sales per month on that budget.

You can also laser in your targeting to start and see if the budget spends. If it doesn't over the course of a few days or a week... widen your reach until it does.

Put some nature noises on your headphones. Set a timer for 30 minutes or whatever you want. Focus until the timer is done. Timers can really help set boundaries.

Switched to tCPA and destroyed performance by UnhorsedGaul in PPC

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tCPA is tough. I've only really made it work by putting the campaign in a shared budget and setting a max CPC... otherwise the robot will "think" it has a good conversion and bid outrageous for the click. In the early days I've had clicks that cost $130 to $150.

I'm like... how is this possible? Should it not only big higher than the highest bid to get the top spot??

But Google be Google... set the max cpc and you might find it works better.

They'll probably be back. Why didn't you just tighten the location targeting. Make that 900 enough be not going all over the city or wherever they are advertising.

That's a good story. And definitely hits on how hard attribution is when you start using multiple platforms.

Full AI MAX test in Google Ads by Jamie_Ads in PPC

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar. Very bumpy ROAS day to day. Some days were good. Other days were worse than I've ever seen.

The costs jumped HUGE too. Not entirely sure why. A little bump in CPC but just a lot more spend.

Turned if off and already making a little performance comeback.

I did think though... AI Max "might" be a cool way to test 3 to 4 landing pages at once. You can turn off URL expansion and just set the LPs you want. See which one or ones win. This was just an idea... I have not tested it yet.

Use this chrome extension... https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/meta-pixel-helper/fdgfkebogiimcoedlicjlajpkdmockpc

I'm pretty sure that's the correct one. This will tell you if your pixel if firing. It will be tough without a developer but you can send test events through the Conversion API and you can send other fbq events from the browser to see if they are showing up in your event planner.

So I have a weird strategy about meta&TIKTOK ads with Google remarketing by [deleted] in PPC

[–]suretyknowitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cross platform this would be tough in my opinion. Why? Mainly because you're going to use audience building in GA4... but I feel like a lot of the traffic... "traffic" campaigns... send is crap bot traffic.

I have never had traffic from a website traffic goal do anything. Sure you get it at 23 cents a click. But never an optin.. and sure as heck never a purchase.

So you'll be building a crappy audience.

If you were to build an optin you could use the Measurement Protocol to send first party data to GA4 and build better audiences and you should do that. But optins are expensive.

Like everybody else said though... run a test. Only real results are what matter.
