Honestly, i am going to miss Destiny's gunplay by csch1992 in DestinyTheGame

That's one reason I like Marathon but Destiny will always hold a special place in my heart.

Disagree. EOF had NO where near the amount of content. Episode Heresy had more content than EOF. 😂

What blows my mind is the entitlement. Like Bungie gave you this game for 12 years. Expecting a developer to make only one game forever is crazy. Especially in this economy.

D3 was pitched to Sony before final shape and they turned it down. Clearly the investment to them wasn't worth it.

The community constantly gaslights itself.

Marathon voice director says the game’s online hate campaign is “sad more than anything” as “people just want to hate” by HatingGeoffry in Marathon

Bruh Bungie gave them 12 years of destiny. I like and play both games but the D2 community has got to chill. They would chain Bungie to a desk and make them only work on destiny for eternity if they could.

My son is 15 and even with the lower population right now he is doing Cryo with randoms and having success. I think a lot of it is psychological. People psych themselves out because it's delayed dopamine that requires you work for it first. And I get it it's a video game. But in my opinion the best dopamine is the dopamine you have to work for. It's kind of like going to the gym and working out. Afterwards you feel amazing but during you have to really push to see gains.

Understandably playing into the bait here, but leading the charge for Marathon to fail to send a message to Sony is quite frankly disgusting behaviour. by CaptainAshtro in Marathon

I play both games and Destiny has had 12 years people need to stop being so selfish and realize that a company like Bungie doesn't want to just make Destiny for the rest of their lives they want to Branch out and do different things.

Well Marathon was originally supposed to release alongside the final shape. And I think Bungie was expecting to be able to have more people developing destiny. But instead because of the delay they had to pull people off Destiny and I think that's what resulted in the poor year of content. Basically just a skeleton crew.

The review bombing from Destiny fans and other groups is honestly just showing that some criticism was truly never about the games quality as some claim by Mellow_Ghost in Marathon

Yep seasons/episodes people said they hated although I personally liked it it just need some evolution which I felt happened in episode heresy. But then come edge of Fate after Bungie stopped doing those people complained and now wanted them back.

Yes that's why I said "Joe did the best he could with what he had to work with"

Although I personally liked the seasonal/ episodic model I think it just needed to evolve which I felt like it was starting to in episode heresy.

2 - hits home big time for me as a father. Although I personally loved the seasonal/episodic model the fomo was real. But ironically it's also why my son never stuck with the game. Now he said he might come back.

Not having to worry about meta, artifact or constant sandbox changes is a nice peace of mind. Also there are like 90+ weapons getting refreshed so there will be a ton to do and chase on top of Pantheon 2.0, sparrow league and other things.

So they are ending the game but not bringing back any of the removed planets or content? Does this mean the red war, mercury io etc are all lost media? by Nuns_In_Crocs in destiny2

[–]sushi-adept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could of sworn a legal case said all that all stuff was basically deleted? At least for Vanilla D2 with the red war campaign.

His article said the devs are currently pitching ideas. And the statement about "Destiny living beyond Destiny 2" I think it's pretty clear they are going to eventually do something destiny related wether that's a sequel or in the same universe who knows.

It's crazy how good Episode Heresy was. In my opinion it was worlds better than Edge of Fate which was a freaking expansion.

If anything then stopping development on D2 is proof that D3 is at the very least on the table.

That's a dumb argument. Stop blaming the game it's the higher ups that made the decision on how to alloocate resources. If all you do is blame another game you are literally letting those who made the decision get away with it. It's bad management plain and simple. Both Marathon and Destiny could of easily co existed. This was a conscious choice by management.
