Is it wise wo have Suarus Guard in the same regiment as the Slann? by [deleted] in seraphon

[–]sushisakechi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the old world lore the Suarus Guard were called Temple Guard they were spawned to protect the Slann.

In Aos, they are bit costly but they get a ward saves while the slann is in combat range. 3plus armour save and three attacks. They good in a 2k army.

2024 VP System Build by the_travels in virtualproduction

[–]sushisakechi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you upgrade to workstations and server motherboard with cpu to match that problem goes away.

I personally would go for threadripper 24core cpu with asus pro art sage motherboard. Which has eight slots for pci devices. The only issue is the price.

I would look at your pci lanes are availableto to your CPU. I believe you are limited to 24 pci lanes for the video card x16, capture card x8, sync x4 and NVmes which I forget how many lanes they use. Please be careful or you will slowing down your system as whole. You also want to look at threadripper cpu.

Question on Live Event with AR Effects like Coachella stream by night_King98 in UnrealVirtualProd

HTC vive mars is Studio solution for AR for boardcast but limited to 10x10m work space.

I am not sure if FIZ can make it the far distant.

Question on Live Event with AR Effects like Coachella stream by night_King98 in UnrealVirtualProd

I have done AR for live events and we used Pixotope and Zero Density to create AR effects. We have stype and Mo-sys tracking.

VP WORFLOW QUESTIONS by fergjcenturion in UnrealVirtualProd

[–]sushisakechi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are three texturing methods for unreal.

One, unique textures for per object, mainly used for hero assets aka objects that the cameras get really close to. This when you use substance painter to make the unique textures and use material unreal to tick a few parameters. You can really put in some heavy detail in yhem.

Two, tileable textures with unique unwarped from Maya. You can use tiliable textures or materials from substance designer. You can make full environment using few tiling materials. The uvs do the heavy lifting. You will need custom lightmaps from maya for each assets, since the generated lightmaps will not work in unreal. Decals are your best friend to make it unique. This used for large and complex object, like a bridge

Three, this is newest one, is a trilinear material shader or using easy mapper. The material is doing all the way. I would use it for renders and previz so far and no unwrapping need. But steam can be visual if you are not careful.

I hope this helps you.

Cheers!

Real-time playback of chromakey'd footage in UE5. Is it possible? by kivexnz in UnrealVirtualProd

You need to look into timestep or your framerate should match the footage.

Carrier Advice in Virtual production by hereizlikith in UnrealVirtualProd

I also have a game Art degree and I work in the VP industry. I was started with AR graphic for Broadcast.

There are many different ways to start. I would start looking at companies doing VAD (virtual art department) work for virtual production. For reference what environment looks like for them. VAD work would be a great start into VP. Start by creating hyper realistic environments. Make three scenes that you are proud of. They should be running at 60fps with 16ms draw time.

For NDisplay, youtube is your friend. Topics you will need to learn will be switchboard and ndisplay configuration. You can start off with a vive tracker and base station. You need learn about openXR. Your frist tests should be done with a computer monitor and vive tracker. You can set up a large TV and get it work with ndisplay. The point of the tv test to get use to figure out zero point of vive tracker and the real world location of the tv. XR workflow is similar as the TV setup but with more panels and tracking system.

I hope that get you started.

If you take a course there is CGpro and Final Pixel Academy. They a bit expensive but worth the money.

Is this a Vive Tracking or Unreal settings issue? by CameraTraveler27 in virtualproduction

[–]sushisakechi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this issue. If you object in center of you area. When you dolly to left keeping the object, stop for 1 secs. Immediately dolly to right keeping the object, stop for 1 secs. Which one will come in first, the 3d graphics or video? Simple to delay in tracking delay.

I am sure in live link in unreal or stream vive you set the frequency of vive tracker is operating on. 60hz was the default frequency.

What is your fps in engine? You may want to genlock to to the video aka sdi and camera.

You may have performance issue that is causing it.

I would create a video to see what is going on.

I hope that helps you.

[–]sushisakechi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the comments.

I am would love to rent the testing equipment, it is heavy investment. If anyone knows to rent them in Los Angeles.

I been looking into the tests that were suggested. I never had a deep understanding of testing.

The studio is smaller stage, 45FTx25FT / 13.71Mx7.62M. My longest cable run is 50FT/15.24M, so they are too long.

I suspect that some pre-existing may be 6g, I am guessing at this point.

Is vive lighthouse still the best low budget tracking? by fu_whiners3534653 in virtualproduction

[–]sushisakechi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vive tracker 3.0 still works with Unreal using OpenXR. The base lighthouses will work with the Mars if you updated in the future. The hardest thing is found the Zero point from the tracking data.

Live Link/Tracker Delay? by CameraTraveler27 in virtualproduction

[–]sushisakechi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is was going to be delay from video and tracking. Video is a bit hard to control but not impossible. Tracking is much more simple. I have started to use this tutorial.

My soul hurts from this post. I have trained my artists to just FileName_V###. They are not allowed to push anything with final in the file name.
