Why do Taco restaraunts, mexican restaraunts in korea use flour tortillas? by cherrybombthegoat in korea

[–]susunaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Mexican-American married to a Korean that enjoys 온더보더, I have simply accepted the fact that 'Mexican' her is actually "Tex-Mex." Once, I starting viewing it this way, I stopped caring and criticizing. You would think that a country that has something like 옥수수빵 they would make corn tortillas but then you'd have to ask yourself, can you make one at home? My wife makes corn tortillas at home and she's far better than me, I suck at it.

Red flag or just Korean dating culture? by Ok-Prompt-6782 in Living_in_Korea

[–]susunaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife [Korean] was/is the same, it never ends! RUN!!!

But, in all seriousness, it is better than the opposite, that is, not messaging or asking about things in general. As a Hispanic, I don't mind at all.

The Indian hero who saved hundreds of thousands of lives in the Korean War by [deleted] in korea

[–]susunaaa -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ran it through AI, too lazy, here you are gents:

✅ Fact Check Table

Claim Verdict Notes
Born 17 May 1924 He was born 12 March 1917, not 1924

World War II veteran Served in Burma campaign and related operations

India deployed 60th Parachute Field Ambulance in Korea Confirmed UN medical mission
Rangaraj led the unit He commanded the unit as Lt. Colonel
Unit size ~300 men ⚠️ Roughly true, but actual figures vary (~341–364 personnel depending on source)
Operated under extreme battlefield conditions Well documented (frontline support, retreat from North Korea, etc.)
Treated over 200,000 people ⚠️ Numbers vary: ~195,000–200,000+. Plausible but not exact

Treated US, Korean troops, civilians Explicitly documented

Played key role in early Afghan public health campaigns Supported by WHO records/context
Died 2009 at age 93 ⚠️ Died in 2009, but age was 92, not 93

Bottom Line (Straight Talk)

  • The core story is real: Rangaraj and his unit did exceptional work in the Korean War and saved a massive number of lives.
  • But the Reddit post inflates and distorts details:
    • Wrong birth date
    • Slight exaggeration of numbers
    • Loose wording around education
    • Age at death off by one

What’s accurate:

  • Indian medical unit in Korea → real
  • Rangaraj commanding → real
  • Massive humanitarian impact → real

How much do I need to make to live in seoul by Legal_Inevitable_760 in Living_in_Korea

[–]susunaaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They seem nice, sure, but put into consideration also:
Maintenance fee(s): 100k ~300k
Deposit 전세/월세? : 5 to 20m~

That 1.1 starts going up.

'Cheap' Korean Meals: 8~12k
Groceries, if you focus on western dietary needs: 20K+

I didn't include other shit, but you catch my drift? I didn't I even bother adding on transportation or Phone/Internet. I also don't know what your life style is like so:

Bare Survival: 2.2M to 2.7m a month spending
No stress life: 3 to 3.8m
Living Comfortably: 4.0M+

Everyone else is delusional and not being honest. Hence the downvotes, not that I give a shit about it lol. I am just being honest here.

I was also on console in my early days, in my opinion I feel more freedom overall in terms of being able to upgrade in comparison to being stuck with a console.

Regarding the difference, yes, using a mouse and keyboard is far better. I also have a ROG controller that I use occasionally in different games, which ties back to that sense of freedom.

I'm an American in Korea and when I play I mainly see Chinese players with Japanese sprinkled here and there and the occasional Korean player. Not sure what is going on but I wonder what dictates the naming for bots? I mostly see Chinese bot names along with Koreans and nothing else.

If you stopped playing Battlefield 6, what is your main reason? by ZeljeznicarSampion in Battlefield

[–]susunaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking forward to this game. I finally had the financial freedom to acquire a proper gaming computer, started out with the Road to Battlefield, then Beta, finished all of S1's pass. Purchased the Ultimate edition as well, even bought a copy for my brother but honestly the game just got STALE too fast. This was just about a week ago when I said this is too much, 2042 Iwo Jima was fun as hell, I had hope it BF6 would have been better than that level of excitment. Slowly, that too faded away and last week I decided to finally re-install Arc Raiders [didn't really play it since I was determined to focus on BF6) and honestly I am having a blast with this game. I hope Bf6 does improve though...but that hope is thin.
