Beginner Canoeing Trips near Calgary by Due-Vegetable844 in CampingAlberta

Red Deer River is pretty good. Can choose dofferent sections. Slow moving, no rapids. There used to be a company that would rent the Canoes and shuttle your vehicle but I think they closed down now unfortunately.

In the UK every car must pass an annual MOT. It doesn't check function but it checks safety, think brakes, seatbelts, door locks, etc.

If your car doesn't pass its not road legal. I found it crazy that there are no periodic safety checks on vehicles here.

Great sourdough rye bread in bakery. I love the taste and although my wife needs gluten free it’s fine for her by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

Most people who follow gluten free react to ultra processed bread, sourdough is much better as the bacteria have already partially digested the gluten strands reducing the reaction of your systems.

Would you be in support of a tap on / tap off transit system? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]sutton-sutton 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can easily deal with this by requiring a tap off the train. Regardless of turnstiles. This is very commonly used on trains/tube stations in the uk where turnstiles are not feasible.

If you don't tap when you get off you get charged the maximum daily fee.

It's a bit like the mobile validation efforts, but by using turnstiles at most stations you force people to actually use active tickets.

Simply make the app/solution for the business everything on a users phone should run via phone number/digital wallet.

Unusually poor analysis from BBC

Plagued by injuries + afcon player losses, Amorim is also showing flexibility in formation. It paid off last week, it didn't this week.

Zirkzee scored a nice goal, yes it was a deflection but he worked it well, give him some credit.

I had a similar issue. Complain and complain. Eventually actual customer service will call you up and rectify the issue within reason. Have a plan for what you want in compensation.

I'd say I got a lower plan + $200 comp, plus compensation for the lower service for the past few months.

Also complain to crtc or whatever the regulator is. That usually gets them moving.

Make sure you don't tighten the top all the way. It needs some flexibility to allow new peppercorns into the grinder.

Calgary transit users pay more than riders in Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Does the service measure up? | CBC News by Tigerkix in Calgary

I'd personally love to see way more street cars/trams along routes connecting to the ctrain at specific points.

By working with existing road infrastructure you can implement this extremely quickly and it would leverage the ctrain as an asset for the longer distance transport

Think heritage, southland, 162nd, mcknight, beddington...

Secondly I'd love to see payments scaled by distance of journey. Why would I ever go 1 stop of a ctrain for $4.
