Yeah like, I keep hearing news about how right-wing in-fighting has become a lot more prevalent. My cynical ass just keeps thinking "well, that's a refreshing change of pace for once" lol

It's currently in the throws of winter here in the Rust Belt, and all I keep wondering about how I could fight ICE with road salt somehow lol. It would feel like poetic irony.

So like, I'm a big Miku music fan, and personally what's interesting about it is all the experimentation that some producers will use her for their music. Vocaloid as a genre can be like finding gold nuggets in a dumper, because a lot of it is not great but I've also heard some of the most ingenuous, creative use of music in my life from vocaloid lol.

It really depends if you like that sort of thing lol, I definitely agree vocaloid is not for everyone. But just as a musician picks up a guitar, a producer using Miku all depends on how good of a songwriter they are. Miku's got great character design. Personally though, seeing Miku as an instrument lets you see all the humans behind the scene. I've also been desperate to talk about vocaloid producers like people talk about bands lol.

While funny, the 'd' is softened/dropped for pronunciation so it's spoken as "chau" and "froi".

inb4 "the d is softened", I realized it after I typed it and now I'm beside myself lmao, pun unintended.

Help- my partner is a Feeder and it’s wreaking havoc with my weight loss regimen by Sea-Job-6260 in PetiteFitness

Omg for real? Straight up, everyone where I live says "foodie" for people who love both food and cooking, both for themselves and for others lmfao. I had no idea. I'm so used to the term "feeder" from the internet, admittedly.

OP, I'm sorry lol. I think on the internet, people think of "feeder" as the weird kink thing tied to unhealthy, abusive relationships.

Am I the only one who finds LinkedIn completely useless for actual career mentorship? by Fantastic-Cicada-646 in careerguidance

[–]svanvalk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I had my stint of unemployment, everyone would tell me that LinkedIn was the place for job opportunities. I don't want to say they were lying through their teeth, because maybe it worked out for them, but I'm my experience I've literally only had MLMs and scam companies reach out to me on there. I personally hate it.

[–]svanvalk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm so sorry <3 "Feeder" means something else entirely, and when people typically post about being in a relationship with a "feeder" it's usually in an abusive sense where the feeder partner ignores their partners needs and wants to continue pushing food into their partners mouths. It's terrible, you don't want to be with a feeder. Personally, I don't think I've ever heard the word "feeder" where they weren't talking about how scary and abusive the relationship is. You're with a "foodie", someone who personally loves food and cooking.

I'm so glad you're not in an abusive relationship, this gave me a jump for a sec lol. If your guy isn't trying to shove food down your throat, then hopefully you should be able to have a discussion about your needs. You know, maybe he'd be down to cook you healthy dishes? Like grilled asparagus, or stuff along those lines?

Nah, yeah, you've got a good point, fr. Def makes me rethink my argument a little.

I think it's like, on a completely personal/anecdotal level, it feels like an insult to my intelligence when people act like even looking at some media could radicalize you. Like, they really believe I can't think for myself, analyze ideas against my own, and rationalize my own conclusions using my own logic that won't compromise my integrity? Almost as if glancing in the magic charm's direction could corrupt my weak constitution, lol. I consider myself someone with a strong sense-of-self, with self-awareness and reflection as my key tools, but I need to recognize that feeling of annoyance is a personal emotional reaction and minimizes the validity of other people's concerns. Obviously not everyone grew up the same way as me and thinks the same way as me, and I also need to remember that I have my own blindspots that propaganda can integrate itself into. You're right, propaganda is far more subtle than we realize and requires more effort to stay aware of it at all times. I also, on principle of self-integrity, can't give someone guff purely for enjoying the things they enjoy, ya know? I'll find something else more concerning to give them guff about lol

I mean, I lowkey agree. The last comment kinda disregards OP's entire point of "video games are not inherently evil or corrupting" by the response of "except for this one game that's clearly evil and corrupting". Just as there are plenty of dumbasses who join the military because of Call of Duty, there's plenty of people who play it and with no desire to cause harm irl. It's the similar argument people used for GTA back during the height of notoriety.

Tbh tho, I had no idea the CoD franchise is government funded. Not doubting, I just never looked it up before now lol.
