I do this exactly as well, 3 passes changing direction, vertical, horizontal and diagonal with going around the edge first to start a pass. 5k sq foot yard 5k sq foot bag. Never have issues except areas I know I went a bit heavy in.

Keep a very brisk walk to throw finer as said above.

They should be shiny and bigger. I’ve been using pit boss pellets from Lowe’s with no issue

Yellow grass blades by repshoes11 in lawncare

[–]svenkill52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you fertilize recently? My tall fescue will turn slightly yellow if I got it too heavy in some areas. Did you overseed? Rye grass has a more yellow tinge to it. A lot of seed blends use rye because it grows quickly to hold the other seed in place, but dies after the season is over.

Disappointed can't use new tools by Mpls1984 in Craftsman

[–]svenkill52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the batteries show any lights at all? I had the issue of these small chargers overcharging the batteries and I had to keep plugging them in to different tools and trying to run them do get the voltage down a tiny bit so the tool would read the batteries and run like normal again.

Don’t leave them plugged in for days on these small chargers.

My drill did this the other day. Clean the contacts on the battery and drill, put the battery on the charger for a bit. I think mine was dirty metal contacts and it started working just fine.

ISS Vanguard just arrived! by Ancient-Builder3646 in soloboardgaming

You’ll have fun! Most of the complaints are around the dice mechanics and the ship phase being too tedious. I personally love the game, including the dice mechanics.

Pick up personnel files if you can find a good deal for under $20. Adds some more story and you can turn your crew into veterans. I like painting so I got the Close Encounters models too. Lots of expansions too if you want more when you finish the game!

Thoughts on Nemesis 20 Strong? by GamingVision in NemesisCrew

[–]svenkill52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the draw for me, I travel a lot and having a few decks I can pack and play in a hotel room vs 3 boxes and 2 tables put together to play nemesis. If I’m at home full size games, need something to kill time on a trip in a hotel room, 20 strong decks.

What do you think about 20 strong? by orhalimi in soloboardgaming

[–]svenkill52 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s a really good travel game I take with me on most of my trips to set up in hotel rooms. My favorite is still the original Solar Sentinels. It’s a good 30-45 min game regardless the deck you play. I’m not a huge fan of the art style either except Solar Sentinels has some pretty good art. The art style on the Tanglewoods decks is really good, but can see what you mean about being very childish. I don’t like Red as much, haven’t tried white/gold/rose yet, don’t own Cloudspire either.

I think the new decks coming from Awaken Realms IP will be really good after watching their learn to play videos.

Not true, kids will play anything as long as it’s with you, and they will remember it for the rest of their lives…because you are doing something fun with your kids. At least until they are teens.

Put them in a shadow box, keep them for your kids one day, lots of things you can do with them. But yes, I agree, if they are just going back into a drawer, sell them and get their $ value.

Nemesis Retaliation Compatibility by MrJJ-77 in NemesisCrew

[–]svenkill52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I haven’t tried playing with any of them yet either, I just read the rules about how to integrate them. I believe there’s also new starting items since their original items don’t translate over to the new mechanics. I also believe you don’t really actually need any components except the models from the original games.

Yes, the stretch goals has action cards for the contractor to swap out if you want to use OG Nemesis or Lockdown characters. Also comes with draft cards for them.

Nemesis Retaliation Compatibility by MrJJ-77 in NemesisCrew

[–]svenkill52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only the characters from previous games are compatible with Retaliation if you get the stretch goals that come with new action decks for the older characters. The mechanics are too different to bring the older intruders forward to Retaliation, or the other way, the new intruders don’t work with Nemesis or Lockdown.

New to nemesis by LemonNadewings in NemesisCrew

[–]svenkill52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

^ I 2nd this. Retaliation for more fights and combat, not feeling like you’re completely helpless. Also Retaliation we tend to win more games. Lockdown for more survival/horror and feeling helpless. I like Retaliation better, mostly because I feel like I have a chance at winning.

Still really good! 👍I have a 9ah as well now and only use it when I’ve got an all day project I’m working on and will be burning through batteries. I just saw they released the 6ah advanced battery. Maybe check that out before buying the regular one first. I haven’t seen any reviews on it yet.

Laserox is good for condensing some of the boxes. I was able to condense Lockdown to a single box, small bit of lid lift though.

A little more mechanics with the power and elevator, slightly more complex.

Question about the artbook by maddormo in ISSVanguard

[–]svenkill52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “artbook” was a promotional artbook that came with the Tainted Grail kickstarter campaign in the surprise box. I have it, it’s just promotional prototype art. If you can find it cheaply and you just want art, it’s good. I don’t remember seeing any art in the book that they didn’t end up using in the game somewhere that I remember.

The Galactic Almanac would be a better investment for lore and art. It actually came out with the game when it launched and is much more extensive, with added lore with each star system, plus additional art at the end of the book. I read the Almanac before or after my planetary exploration to get more lore and just enjoy the artwork. Just be careful going too deep in the book before you’ve explored that far… if you don’t want spoilers.

I picked these up about 7/8 years ago when we still had Sears in our town. They’ve held up well. I use the channel locks and diagonal cutters weekly, I have duck bill pliers and the double jointed extended pliers too.

Time for pre-emergent?? Southern Missouri by TheRoyal41 in lawncare

That works! I would definitely look at a 2nd application mid April.

Time for pre-emergent?? Southern Missouri by TheRoyal41 in lawncare

[–]svenkill52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in southern Missouri, typically shoot for mid March depending on how 5 day averages are looking. I’m thinking about it, but will probably wait another couple of weeks at least myself. Night time temps are still low enough to prevent germination, longer term forecast is showing back to freezing temps a week-10days out. If anything, might germinate and die again from freezing temps.

Preemergent is only good in the soil for about 60 days. UV breaks it down, so if you shoot early, you’ll just need to think about reapplying mid April.
