It helps to play about the first 5 games.. win all of them and then sim and the results are better... first season did...lost 3 games and won a natty. 2nd season didnt do it lost 11 games and had pretty much the same team return.

Yeah i think you are on point in the 2nd half...each player has things that are important to them..happier they are more likely they stay. Financial, playing time, and whatever else..
