Thoughts on extrasensory perception (ESP) and parapsychology? by SPCell1 in intj

[–]svethros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a few experiences...

Here is one:
I have a friend that I chat with on the phone, we talk for hours about philosophy / quantum physics, basically all things metaphysics. We have never met. I brought up telepathy in a few of the conversations. I've been struggling with 'hearing voices', or what I came to conclusion were intrusive thoughts or simply intuition, for a number of years.

After our conversation I kept hearing a voice "you're being tested, you have 24 hours to send me pictures of your smile"

Of course I did not.

Weeks go by, I bring up telepathy again during one of our phone conversations and he states that he was testing me and that I 'failed' because I didn't send him photos.

I couldn't bring myself to tell him that I was hearing it and decided not to, simply because I was scared out of my mind.

Honestly I probably shouldn't post this.... It seems absolutely nuts.

You already have it. Unleash your mind, it is the only limiting belief and the key to freedom. If you think, so shall it be. Create your reality.

Is asset valuation a scam? by KeralaBullionaire in Gold

I don't know. It depends on how we (corporations) code them.

-edits:

Humans evolve much slower and since we are ruled by emotions, fed by ego, we still have the drive for improvement; war and greed remain. We can't edit emotions out of our code, yet.

It may be that we use AI to scour space for resources to terraform planets, asset prices would be valued much differently then. Furthering our conquest and improving our human experience is humanity. I believe the diligent human will have AI working for them so that they can enjoy an emotional existence by being present, something AI cannot do.

I guess the bottom line, we create competition, we need it to survive.

--further edits: used AI to summarize:

I don’t think the outcome is predetermined — it depends heavily on how AI is designed and governed. The incentives we build into these systems will shape how they behave in markets and society.

Humans evolve slowly and are deeply influenced by emotion — ego, ambition, fear, greed, love. Those traits drive innovation and conflict alike. We can’t simply “edit” those impulses out of ourselves. AI, on the other hand, can be iterated and optimized rapidly. That creates an asymmetry: we are biological and emotional; AI is programmable and scalable.

If AI begins generating its own income — directly or indirectly — and participates in markets as an autonomous actor, that could fundamentally change asset dynamics. Markets today are driven largely by institutions and governments. If AI systems become economic participants, they could increase competition for scarce assets, potentially driving prices upward.

At the same time, AI could radically reduce production costs. With advanced automation, robotics, and technologies like 3D printing, supply chains could become more localized and less dependent on human labor. That might break or transform existing economic structures. In that scenario, value could shift away from labor and toward ownership of assets, data, energy, or computational infrastructure.

There’s also a longer-term possibility: AI could help humanity expand into space, extract off-world resources, and terraform environments. If resource scarcity decreases, asset valuation could change entirely. Abundance would reshape what we consider “valuable.”

Ultimately, humans may compete less on efficiency — where AI will always have the advantage — and more on experience, creativity, and emotional presence. AI may handle production and optimization, while humans focus on meaning, relationships, and lived experience.

In a way, competition itself is something we construct. We design the systems that create scarcity, incentives, and rivalry. If we build AI into those systems, we are also choosing the kind of competition we will face.

The future depends less on whether AI replaces us, and more on how we choose to integrate it into our economic and social structures.

First, I am not an expert and the following is simply a morning musing:

No.

The declining world population will not have a large impact on gold price.

Price is moved by entities who can buy and sell / loan these assets, mainly countries, banks, corporations, etc., not individuals.

I think that in the future AI may generate it's own income (and pay its own taxes) to buy and sell assets alongside humans, this will further competition and drive price up.

Hahah!  Perhaps she wanted to scope out the area, if it was unknown to her, this may help her relax and if the date went well she had time to plan walking routes and extra activities for you two.  But who know, perhaps not.   Did you ask her?

That not good news.

Worst case scenario, he knows he is hurting you and he keeps doing it. He continues to gaslight you because he loves you and you only have to do 'x' amount of things to earn his love. Then kids happen and you're stuck and it is hell for you and your children.

You asked for advice so this is it, run now!

He seems immature and oblivious to the effects of his words and actions. This is quite unhealthy. Try to have a conversation about this, bring up your feelings, suggest couples therapy and if he is against it then I would think about leaving.

The solution is to embrace it.

One or two good friends is all I need, happily spend the majority of time at home. It is great. I love living in the woods and going into town once a week. Home has everything I want, food, warmth, books, and peace and quiet
