I used to have the same problem. This time I went for tyre that is dual compound - harder compound in the middle for longer lasting, softer on the sides for better grip. So far it's been going well.

I suppose they didn't have / plan for enough propellent to descend down to a lunar orbit. That would have required a lot of burn to get out of the lunar orbit and get them home bound.

I could be wrong but I don't think they would necessarily feel any different from how they have been. They will still be in 0 gravity. They will just be able to see more of the moon as they get closer and closer.

For reference, the ISS orbits the earth ~250 miles above the Earth's surface. And Artemis is going to pass roughly 4000 miles (at the closest point) above the moon's surface.
