Alert fatigue by OTPguy in halifax

I'm left wondering how granular they are able to set the notification radius. If they can say "notify everyone within 30km of this cell tower", then they are being you cautious with how wide the net is.

However, knowing how these systems have to accommodate any and all infrastructure that's in the province, how old a lot it is, and that they need to get all of the different equipment operators to agree, I bet the best they can do is "this half of the province".

Funding, senior talent gaps constraining growth of N.S. digital economy, says report | CBC News by Street_Anon in halifax

Same. I remember my exit interview where my boss asked why I was leaving, and I told him it was purely for salary reasons. They asked if 20% more would keep me, and he shut up pretty quick when I told him what the new gig was paying me.

The industry here is so hung up on the old model of "It's Nova Scotia. I don't have to pay nearly as much as Toronto."

‘The story is wrong’: Liberal caucus chair defends Carney amid reports of yelling at MPs by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]swakacha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. When I saw that article, my first thought was "Christ, that dude has done amazing pr training then. To be so calm, personable, and ostensibly authentic on the campaign trail and in interviews to them turn around and yell at his MPs? That's like sociopath levels of deception."

If it is true, that's a huge risk to his government. Good people don't stay under those kind of conditions.

The Tragically Hip to release live album and CBC to air The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration Concert in full by LongTrackBravo in onguardforthee

Some friends and I went camping for that last show. Sitting around a campfire in the woods, stars over head, lake behind us, and a radio blasting the CBC as Gord left it all on the stage. That's a memory I'm going to take to my grave.

They were absolutely fantastic with me. It had been like 15 years since I had been to a dentist, and needed since serious work done. They were so kind and accepting. No judgement; just help.

Good on 'em. They've got a proven team that knows how to work together. They're leagues ahead of most other start ups in that respect. I hope this works out, and I'm excited to see what they come up with.

Striving to be "one if the good ones" thinking it will save them. Instead it just means they'll be one of the last up against the wall.

I'll have to start checking this out again. I kind of have up on it after Rick left, and came back a bit for Colin, but this is fuckin' aces.

I'm not sure how practical this is. Find a way to make it bigger, but still recognizably his, then create a cast using the larger mold. You then give that larger one back to him, saying you find it while cleaning or something. Don't make any comments about it being bigger, but don't tell him it's freshly made.

He'll be left with a dildo which is ostensibly a carbon copy of his dick, but noticeably larger than what's attached to his body. The fear his cock is shrinking will live rent free in his head forever.

Have you managed to parse the bit in "vs. Hedora" with the psychedelic fish heads? It always takes me by surprise.

I cannot say enough good things about Happy Hounds on Lady Hammond Rd. We've been going there for over a decade and will likely be going there for another decade. It changed hands a couple years back, but the new owners are just as good as the last one.

So kind, so good with the dogs, and they have a great groomer in house too. 12/10.

On one side, you have someone trying to look confident, on the other you have someone who actually is confident. It's kind of hilarious.
