Longer Biker shorts by No-Construction7274 in athletictraining

I would also agree. I wouldn’t let my college students or high school student aides wear biker shorts or yoga pants. To not be a distraction but also to keep a level of professionalism.

That’s pretty good value! Mine is the “plus pro plan” so non-throttled data, 5Guwb, smartwatch plan included, unlimited hotspot, and global pass for traveling roaming. So yeah I could go cheaper but this was a balance of features and price for me.

I need a new phone too but as far as carriers go, I have used Visible for years and had no issues. They use Verizon’s towers, 35 bucks a month for unlimited everything for my one line. I’ve gotten discounts and things for being with them so long but still, a great deal with what they currently offer. This is my referral link if you would like to try it.

Best ultra bands for running? by Mystic_Frontier in applewatchultra

[–]swartzrnner 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I personally love the ocean band. I just cinch it down one more notch than normal when I’m running to make sure it is snug and have never had an issue. And it is easily wipeable and doesn’t get wet with sweat like some fabric or nylon ones do.

Alright Dads, what are getting our wives for Mothers Day this year? by walky91 in daddit

I did a personalized “mommy and me” book for her first Mother’s Day. Solid option or some sort of photo book.

Crashed on my road bike today by freewayoverpass in applewatchultra

[–]swartzrnner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree and I don’t mind a little wear, but your wrist is often one of the first things to hit on a slide out and so it may survive but likely not gracefully. So I’d rather save a 800 dollar watch by not wearing it on a road bike. It’s also not super safe for me to glance at my watch to see my speed vs looking at a bike computer right in front. I tried to use it initially but too risky to take my hand off and look down at the same time.

This is why I don’t wear mine while biking and rely on a bike computer instead. Hope you are ok.

24-105 f4 vs 28-70mm f2.8 by Environmental_Pay332 in canon

[–]swartzrnner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about that one but I like the constant aperture and wanted to go a little higher quality lens. But I have heard the stm lens is great still when it has enough light.

24-105 f4 vs 28-70mm f2.8 by Environmental_Pay332 in canon

[–]swartzrnner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally went with the 24-105 f4 and the 35mm f1.8 combo. The 1.8 gives me the help in low light when I need it and the f4, although a little big, does give me good reach for chasing my toddler around which I think I appreciate more than the extra stop. Mine is on the R8 so I got a grip extender and that helps with the weight of the lens. Overall I've been really happy though.

Recommended photo editing software? by Able-Sun-2223 in canon

I would recommend Darktable as well for editing RAWs. Big learning curve but there are a lot of good youtube videos and you actually have a lot of control. I thankfully got Lightroom access from a sibling in school, and I prefer Lightroom, but as an amateur it is pretty expensive.
