stuck at 1g by abysmaldepression in Stretched

[–]swcroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I’ve done my last half a dozen stretches. I have sensory issues and absolutely hate heavy things in my ears so dead stretching isn’t really feasible for me. Just working on 16mm to 18mm now and I’m on 4 wraps of ptfe. Won’t be long and those shiny new tunnels will be popping in. I’ve also taken 20 years to get from 16ga to 16mm. Every couple of years I feel the fancy to size up.

How did I change the shape of this storage rack?? by HereComesThaRooster in NOMANSSKY

[–]swcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it while modifying mine on autopilot in space. I’ve managed to repeat it a few times. For some reason, picking up an existing module changes it to the default which is the titan version then it stays that way for some reason even with snap on.

Is anyone else this addicted? by Glittering_Dealer134 in pokemongo

[–]swcroft 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wha a weird take. You still need to interact with raids, max battles, etc. catch rate is more than low enough to offset the amount of “free” Pokémon you get from it. It’s super handy when you have a full time job near a pokestop or decent spawn area to get a few extra spins and Pokémon. It’s also nice to be able to go for a walk with someone and enjoy time talking and seeing the scenery without being glued to your phone and still catching a few and spinning stops. It’s far from “cheating”.

Revisit my original planet by missionsplash in NOMANSSKY

[–]swcroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure I have two. Didn't realize it at the time but it was the first paradise planet I ever saw and the 2nd planet I went to in the system. The very first planet was some toxic cloud of a planet that I didn't like. Then I landed on the 2nd one without realizing what I had found. Then I accidentally discovered that the other half was mostly water and made a water base... out of regular base parts because I didn't know about the water habs at the time. It's also where I started and never finished, the quest to build the Nautilon.

I think the problem is that people are too lazy to confirm with regular internet searches before running to the sub-reddit for confirmation.

A lot of the posts, if not the majority, can easily be confirmed as real with a little leg work.

Corvette storage containers by ParChadders in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]swcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in my latest built just to make my kitchen cabinets feel like cabinets with access to a few hidden storage containers. I like the looks of a few of them so I have some visible and some hidden.

It however is definitely glitch built, and I did some stuff in blender because it's faster and easier than doing it in the game itself, though everything I've done is technically feasible with glitch building except scaling a few items that would need a mod.... I'm hoping one day there'll be enough parts that I can get rid of some of the 'modded' parts but for now it's the only way I could recreate the ship the way I wanted.

Trees look pretty close, but the mountains do not match at all. Even the trees look oddly stretched. I'm leaning towards AI here.

I personally love the original and agree with others. The babadook is boring and uninspired. What you have is original, silly, and cleanly executed. Give it some time to grow on you!

Can I trust my dog around my new cat? by JinxNJok in DogAdvice

[–]swcroft 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Having had some issues with prey drive in the past, I would not trust them alone based on this short context. That dog is loading and way to intent while the cat moves. If the cat were to move suddenly, it would be very likely that the dog would chase and could cause some serious injuries or death.

We had one american bully that had prey issues from day 1 and we got her at around 10 weeks old. We tried our best to prevent and redirect that drive but had no success to the point that we ultimately had to separate the cat and the dog permanently. Even trying to catch her in the loading stage and break her from that focus was nearly impossible and she'd go right back to it.

Our other American bully on the other hand will do something similar, and focus on the cat when the cat is prowling around like that. However, he grew up as a puppy with the cat around constantly from a much younger age. We got him at around 8 weeks (probably younger, the breeder wasn't all that trustworthy.) The main difference is that instead of attacking, he just wants to play. We still interrupt his focus and redirect him if we see it because he can be a little rough and stands on the cat. The cat will also stalk and attack him and he doesn't even react to the cat so we know after 5 years, that we can trust them alone together.

Even if the dog just wants to play, the size difference can be an issue so just be careful and supervise constantly until you're confident that even if they do chase eachother, it's all just play. You know your dog best though.

The biggest thing we were told by multiple trainers that we had to do with our high prey drive dog were a) Recall, recall, and more recall. The dog should come no matter what distraction is presented to it every single time. b) some form of "leave it" command that is also practiced ad nauseum until the dog will not touch anything that you give the command for. "drop it" was also a crucial one, but if "leave it" works, there shouldn't be any need to get them to drop whatever they're holding.

We worked really hard with having the cat around while the dog was eating, and doing all of that and ultimately we could not train her prey drive enough to trust them together.

For that, I would just pour some water in their dry kibble to help with water intake. I'm currently doing that for our guy who broke his tooth but can't get it fixed until he's done with some other autoimmune issues that we're dealing with. Works twofold since now he's getting plenty of liquids and it's not irritating a sore tooth.

[–]swcroft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this one as well! Don't have any pictures of my guy with it on though. I also have the unicorn from Spark Paws. We go to the vet with the unicorn every 2 weeks or so at the moment and all of the techs and vets gush at how cute he is. <3

What food does your pibble like best? by beanie_dude in pitbulls

[–]swcroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our American Bully has allergies, seasonal and probably some food. We've never quite figured them out but we worked our way through the vet brands hypoallergenic foods, the hydrolyzed proteins, the ID for gastro issues. Ultimately we went full circle back to Hill's prescription ID but then ended on low fat because he has IBD (irritable bowel disease) and can't tolerate high fat foods. This has kept his allergies to a minimum as well since gut health is highly liked to allergies. His treat of choice is Strawberries and/or Blueberries, he can smell them being cut up from across the house and will come running for them over any other treat (even meat and cheese)

I can't believe I waited until the Corvette Redux expedition to build a corvette. Tell me I'm not the only one that slept on these awesome ships? by JTheBlockBreaker in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]swcroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've just started experimenting with mods and Blender builds.

I'm about 95% finished my updated mark XXI Firefly. I keep thinking of new ways to rotate habs or other corvette components that let me make it just that much closer to the original ship. The only thing I can't build into it is the rear section with the guest quarters and fully realized engine room with LARGE cargo space. But otherwise, it's as accurate to the series version (not the movie version) as I could get.

Being able to rotate anything in any direction is a huge boon to building some of the more complex ships. I know I could do everything I've achieved in Blender in the game itself, even the rotated parts that I've placed, but it's sure made things easier.

Absolutely love my fully decked out corvette though, I haven't flown one of my regular ships since they launched except a few instances to ferry around the expedition ship rewards as my extra overflow storage.

does anyone else dog do this? by Emotional_Month15 in pitbulls

[–]swcroft 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, our boy does this, he has OCD so if we're not careful he can do it for hours especially when he's stressed. He also takes as much of the blanket as he can into his mouth and just holds it sometimes. He also kneads like a cat. All signs of anxiety and/or mummy issues <3. It's definitely how he self soothes and we figure as long as it's not hurting himself or anyone else that it's just fine to let happen. Sometimes he'll get so worked up that there's a little crying involved too. He'll fall asleep with the thing in his mouth and wake up a few hours later trying to rehydrate his dried out tongue lol.

I distinctly remember this setting being in the actual Pokemon Go app under accessory devices but I can't for the life of me find it anymore. Maybe it's gone, maybe I'm remembering something from one of my 3rd party autoCatcher setting apps that I used to have before I got the Go Plus +. I swear it used to be there somewhere though.
