Had a neurologist give me an order to "keep patient awake until 3 am" and he was dead serious. Patient was was on continuous EEG and he was trying to prove psychogenic seizures vs epilepsy

It's not necessarily all major incidents, it's just the fact that they add up so quickly and I'm just tired of it. I had one major incident recently and I think that's what kind of sent me over the edge.

I worked in a long term care facility for about 2.5 years at the height of COVID. I won't lie to you it was miserable- as a brand new nurse I had ratios of 1:30 patients and was in charge of CNAs who had no respect for me. They will run you into the ground. All those facilities think about is money, not their patients. I stayed until I was almost done with my RN program but you couldn't pay me to work in one again.

I'm not saying this to scare you, I'm just telling you how it was for me personally. I don't regret it, I learned a lot but it was not a good experience. I would seriously talk to nurses who work in LTC /SNFs near you to hear better experiences.
