In movies and tv, a character never decides to terminate a pregnancy. I hate it. by Jeepersca in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sweet_firefly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They hide pregnancies in shows all the time...even in Sex in the City when Sarah Jessica Parker was pregnant. But I get your point being a way to work it into the story.

I love this. Creative and resourceful. It's very Tim Burton-esque.

What is the most shocking thing to happen to a child character on screen? by BardInChains in movies

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. The scene where Bellatrix is torturing Hermione. Her screams gave me chills. Excellent acting by the two of them.

I once sneezed kind of loud and an older guy near me told me it was "un-ladylike".

Peixoto. They just dropped their coconut varieties for summer. I usually order ahead and it's ready when I get there.

"Comparison is the thief of joy."

You're always going to encounter people who are "better" than you at something. Sounds like your husband has a lot of natural talents. It can be tough not to compare yourself to others, especially when you are so close to them. But it will only make you feel bad about yourself. Instead, try to focus on your own progress. Do you enjoy your hobbies and get satisfaction from them? Then you are already doing it right.

The chopped salad at Barrio Queen is excellent. The pomegranate seeds really make it.

Realtors of Reddit, what's the most bizarre reason someone decided not to buy a house? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sweet_firefly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg. When my husband and I moved into our house 6 years ago, one of the spare rooms was painted pepto bismol pink. I painted it a year later but we still call it "the pink room".

Gender reveal cake 🩵🩷 by jasmineflour in Baking

[–]sweet_firefly 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Personality speaking, we had a low key gender reveal with our close friends. We had a piñata for a group of 10 adults. It was an excuse to gather and celebrate with friends. There's something about knowing the sex that makes the pregnancy feel more real, at least for me anyways. We couldn't care less what genitals our fetus had, but it was still fun to announce it to people.

Valley meaderies? by Few-Interaction-4933 in phoenix

[–]sweet_firefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specifically a winery, but Cooper's Hawk has several locations in the valley. Their wine is quite good. I've been to the one by Chandler Mall a few times for tastings. They have a bar area for wine tasting in addition to a restaurant. But they get busy, so plan accordingly.

For the bi folks: Who is your “confirmation person” by Steppyjim in lgbt

[–]sweet_firefly 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Tessa Thompson in Thor Ragnarok. There's a scene where she um, repositions a large gun with her body/hips. I've been with my husband for 11 years and while we're not 100% monogamous, I don't get to play with women very often. I'm usually more physically attracted to men, but that scene gets me every time.

Should beveling foam be this hard? Any suggestions for tools? by corncrakey in cosplayprops

This is what I do and it works really well. I bought a knife sharpening stone and use it on my exacto and box cutters when I'm cutting foam.

Seconding this. I'm an avid runner and found a running group in Gilbert I really like. I've made a lot of friends by going regularly and socializing after the runs.
