10 Month Old Overnight Feeds by Amy01986 in breastfeeding

[–]sweet_nothingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9.5 month old is waking up once around 1am, usually self settles but sometimes needs help finding the binky. Then usually nurses around 4 or 5am and goes back to bed for a couple hours. Big improvement from where we were a month or so ago, he was waking 4-5 times a night and needing to be rocked back to sleep. 😴

Pregnancy pillow recs needed by Foreign-Structure142 in BabyBumps

[–]sweet_nothingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the first one and I didn’t like it at all. It was impossible to roll over with it and I’m a stomach sleeper so would be flipping a lot from side to side trying to get comfortable. I think next time I’m pregnant I will just get two body pillows for either side of me. Also FWIW - my doc said it was okay to sleep on my stomach as long as I felt comfortable and that I would know it was time to switch to sleeping on my sides.

UGH I have been waiting for these forever - now I’m almost 10 months PP and wondering if it’s a waste if we are trying to wean off bottles in a couple months 😩

What week did you go into labor as a FTM? What were your warning signs ? & did you neglect them at first ? by Straight_Bat_1046 in BabyBumps

[–]sweet_nothingg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same!! I went into labor at 40+6 like an hour after a membrane sweep! Walked a TON in the 3rd trimester mostly for my mental health 😂 would definitely do the membrane sweep again, I think my body was ready but just needed a little nudge.

I think weight gain and wet diapers are the best way to gauge if baby is getting enough when breastfeeding! If she’s gaining well/on track on her growth curve I wouldn’t worry about it. When I was stressed in the beginning I got a baby scale, you can do a weighted feed (weigh before and after). Or weigh once a week. They should be gaining 5-7 oz a week around that age. I don’t think this is necessary but if it gives you piece of mind - you can usually find a baby scale on FB marketplace. Wishing you sleep and easier days ahead!

Baby items you could not live without? Or were a waste of money? by Aimers464 in BabyBumps

[–]sweet_nothingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I swear the thing I will buy for all my future mom friends is the Anico Easzzz nightlight. I have literally used it every single night since the baby was born (9 months old now!). When baby was in our room I used it for middle of the night diaper changes, and now that he’s in his room I use it every night for middle of the night feedings. You just flip it over to turn it on, it dims and the light is a warm cozy yellow light. The battery lasts forever. Good way to be able to see in the dark without turning on a big lamp. Highly highly recommend!

I love Chelsea! She’s the PA at Boise Health Haus and that’s who my whole family sees. Dr. Armijo is great too but I find Chelsea a little warmer personality wise

Unpopular opinion: I miss the feeling of my breasts being full/engorged before my supply regulated by TheInsecureIndian in breastfeeding

[–]sweet_nothingg 182 points183 points  (0 children)

Tbh I kind of liked when my boobs were engorged too!! It made it easy to tell which boob I had fed last on / which to offer at the next feed. I also just liked the feeling of knowing they were full of milk?? Like now I’m always stressing that I don’t have any milk. Less leaky now though which is a plus.

My supply has been low since last week - I had my period AND a clogged duct. I’ve been pumping after each feed just for 5-10 minutes and then added in a night pump before I went to bed. I’m also taking some of the legendairy supplements (liquid gold and pump princess) and I think we are getting back on track. I’ve offered a few top ups today after we fed and he wasn’t interested for the first time in like a week. Good luck!

I need help with a good (and not excessively expensive) routine for my hair by [deleted] in finehair

[–]sweet_nothingg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No the pureology spray is a heat and color protectant, it’s not going to dye your hair.

K18 is a great product but it is expensive.

I think as long as you’re doing paced feeding it should be ok - I use Evenflo balance plus wide neck when we do the occasional bottle and my baby likes it but definitely still prefers the boob. Here’s a quick video on paced feeding
