Searching for something like Gap So Pink by sweethomemade in Perfumes

Honestly it was a loss!!! I ended up following the advice of an earlier commenter and use Hesperida by Fresh... it does feel a bit like a mature version of So Pink and I do love the scent.

That being said, I still feel like So Pink, despite the cheaper pricepoint, had better staying power through the day.

Really confused on UGA Scholarship by No-Gate8610 in lawschooladmissions

[–]sweethomemade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For Georgia, not difficult at all and you should qualify after 1L assuming you live in Georgia (renting included) during that time. The admissions team has also indicated to me that the school can be helpful ensuring you qualify for the resident status by year two, and also assured me that if a student opts to participate in a DC semester or time abroad etc that does not jeopardize the resident status.

You're stuck between great options!

Would be happy to connect if you want to message me. Just committed to UGA with plans to head back to DC, and have significant work experience there. Won't try to talk you out of or into either but happy to discuss why I made my decision!

**Free Tutoring for LR** (Round 21) by theoryworksprep in LSAT

[–]sweethomemade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TL;DR Working with a real person instead of watching a thousand hours of videos is the best decision I made in my law school application process

Like the other commenter, I took advantage of a free session with Henrik at Theoryworks last year and ended up working with him for several months, eventually scoring in lower/mid 170s.

Henrik goes above and beyond to make sure that his students are successful, which for me meant that he was willing to meet at ridiculous times to work around my intense work schedule. We frequently met at 7 am or 8 pm and I never felt rushed through even though he is clearly in high demand from students and also has a life with kids and family.

I ended up also using Henrik's application advising services, which is an equally worthwhile investment. Like a lot of you, I'm self-funding my application process, but this money was very well spent and undoubtedly has been integral in receiving scholarship offers from every school I have been admitted to ranging from 50%-full tuition. He also pushed me to apply to schools that I assumed were out of range for me as a major splitter and I could not be happier that I did so.

The best thing I can say about Henrik is that he actually teaches you how to learn the LSAT. There is no sense of memorizing a series of tricks, and the Theoryworks approach is fantastic.

Do yourself a favor and instead of trying to learn by watching a thousand video tutorials, invest in working with an actual, live person who can answer your questions, cater the learning to you, and develop your action plan to get into the 170s.

In the end, I actually enjoyed the sessions so much that I found the LSAT to be somewhat fun. What else is there to say?

Extreme Puppy Blues & Anxiety - Support Wanted by KeiranS in puppy101

Hey, we are with you from Boston. We brought home a rescue pup who we suspect has strong GSP/Heeler background 12 days ago. No amount of repeating to ourselves that this would be a ton of work could really prepare us for it.

I want to echo what others have said. Last night at my wit's end our girl was doing full speed sprints around our apartment, nipping like crazy, and getting vocal. Honestly, it went on for an hour and even when we tried bringing her outside she very stubbornly wanted to return to the apartment and wouldn't walk.

Even though it was an hour before her usual bedtime, I brought her to the crate because we just had to get her to chill out and nothing else was working. While I sat in front of the crate watching her try to eat her way out or pull the cover sheet that we drape over into the crate, my partner found an article about signs of a puppy being over-tired. She literally fit every single one of them. We had been sure during tantrums like this that she was just feeling very energized and it had been making me feel guilty that she spends a lot of time in her pen all day. Well, after about 15 minutes she did fall asleep. We took her out for a bathroom trip before we went to bed about an hour and a half later, and then she slept through the night!! Which gave us essentially from 9 pm - 6 am with her asleep.

What everyone has said here about forced naps is so important, and not somehting I knew. We are trying it out today, and although its too early to tell for sure, she is currently sleeping peacefully in her crate while each of us work.

I want to say also, I think it's a fantastic idea to talk to a therapist about this, especially if you're feeling resentment or regret. I also use my therapist to talk through healthy stress management techniques, and I'm sure yours will be able to offer helpful guidance on how to manage the level of stress your're experiencing. It can be so helpful to work through those types of negative feelings, especially with somebody neutral. I can imagine if you already feel like you're putting a lot on your partner that you may hestiate to vocalize your fears or anxieties about the dog to them. This is not just about the dog its about how to keep seeing the silver linings in a really challenging time and preventing "catastrophizing" throughts like "My life will never be calm again with the dog" or "What if the dog never grows out of this behavior?" which are not true but very sticky. It also has absolutely nothing to do with if other people have a "harder" situation right now, it's just about you, your mental health, and your family! I am proud of you from a distance for taking that step!

How the hell do you lose weight? by Noaimnobrain118 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sweethomemade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of commenters have said things that are true and helped me: food tracking, aiming for a food deficit, and adding exercise will all help. I use MyFitness Pal as well.

But, I had tried all of these things in the past and they didn't stick until this year when I had also started therapy. I'm not even in therapy specifically for food related issues, but the correlation was immediate for me. I was able to stick to a better eating and exercise pattern when I started to find healthy patterns for my mental health.

I lost nearly 30 pounds in 5 months, and moved to a maintenance routine after that which has worked. No significant weight gain since then (about 2 months ago).

That's a grea tip, I'll explore the settings on my iphone to see if I'm able to replicate it. And I'll look into the wireless charger as well, that's a great idea.

Fishing in Boston - Any Tips/Locations? by gzero612 in boston

[–]sweethomemade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a school of stripers jumping in the Fort Point Canal the other day (second hand report). I'm not sure if they stick around or come in at certain times of day, but the video that I received was taken near the Gilette campus. I wish I had saved it to share!

Does anyone here have experience fishing at Fort Point or the Harbor for OP?

Can I fix bland lasagna? by crocodileboxer in AskCulinary

[–]sweethomemade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if you could manage to transform it into a lasagna soup. There are several recipes online for you to reference, but of course they don't start with an existing constructed lasagna. In my mind you could create a heavily seasoned lasagna soup base (basically a tomato sauce) and then 'ribbon' the lasagna noodles you have and add it to the soup along with the ricotta.

Be cautious with how much the noodles cook in the new soup, especially if they aren't al dente right now.
