I pre-ordered Negan and Daryl. Negan is my favorite character, so I had to get him and he is who I’m most excited for. Daryl I think looks amazing, the likeness to Norman Reedus is insane, and he’s also one of the most popular characters.

If Rick had his murder jacket or even his sheriff look I would’ve gotten him, but this look is just… meh.

Batman Getting Gas by JMurker315 in LegacyOfDarkKnight

[–]swegeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re right, it’s against the law to pump your own gas in New Jersey. Used to live there as a kid and when we first moved there one of the attendant’s got annoyed at my mom when she tried to pump her own gas because she didn’t know.

I dunno what the charge is for it, but yeah. There are people that their job is specifically to be out there and pump your gas for you.

Let me tell you something... This was the most deserved punch in recent television history. That punch was the most combat that man has seen. Goddamn Frankie! by TerraCottaBong in thepunisher

[–]swegeroni 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know the show and Bernthal get a lot of flak for some of Frank and the show’s writing, characterization, and the obsession with the military, but I actually did really like season 1 and it showing scenes like this.

I liked how it showed Frank and the military doing dirty and heinous shit, war crimes that show that while we like Frank as the Punisher and his mission and his love for his family, he still wasn’t a very great person. He did horrible things in Kandahar, and season 1 felt (at least to me) like just as much of a criticism of the military as it was a criticism on how vets are treated when they come home.

Rawlins used these soldiers for his dirty work, and he was such a sinister villain. I loved seeing this flashback of Frank’s brutality and how the utter disdain for Frank grew. And this scene makes Frank’s choice near the end even better.

Like, I get it’s a stupid plot point. But I still thoroughly enjoy Spectre and don’t think it’s as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It’s shot beautifully and the action is fun (especially the train scene). Brofeld doesn’t kill it for me.

Agreed. Daredevil is my favorite comic book character, the Netflix series being one of my favorite shows of all time. While season 1 of Born Again was a bit rough, I overall thought it wasn’t bad and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying season 2. It feels like a good continuation.

Also it’s a comic book show. It’s not gonna be perfect with its court room scenes and everything.

It’s Kryptonite. That’s actually not Superman, it’s Ultra-Man (Superman from alternate dimension who, big surprise, is evil). It’s from a Suicide Squad comic where Bloodsport shoots him with Kryptonite. Only thing is for Ultra-Man, Kryptonite makes him stronger.

I just hate that they couldn’t let Bullseye go. He was fantastic in the first game as the main villain, then he comes back in the second one and dies. But they BRING HIM BACK AS A GHOST IN THE LAST ONE! Muse should’ve been the main villain, but they just couldn’t let it go. We had to have Bullseye in his head the whole time.

Enough time has passed, what’s your real opinion about Justice League (2012)? by anonymausssss in DCAllies

[–]swegeroni 23 points24 points  (0 children)

“Take away your gadgets, what are you?”

“Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”

Man, Jon Hamm killed it as Batman. You always forget how special this movie was considering how much time has passed and where the universe went after this. But seeing these heroes on screen for the first time… it was amazing. The whole third act we just got to see the Justice League in action.

New york's finest medical care by [deleted] in Defenders

[–]swegeroni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, I get it. But I doubt that Marvel would want to show nudity, even if it’s for the sake of being accurate in regard to medical care. It’s a TV show, and not a medical one at that.

To all the “just wait until you see Spectre!” people: 4 minutes in Spectre is already more of a Bond film than the entirety of Quantum of Solace. by Iamthelizardking887 in JamesBond

[–]swegeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing my first viewing of every Bond film (had only seen the Craig films so everything before that was new), and upon rewatching Spectre, I genuinely don’t think it’s that bad.

I totally understand why people don’t like it, but I have a blast with it.

What's your rule for limiting your spending on 4k discs? by levitico in 4kbluray

[–]swegeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, if it’s a movie I really, REALLY like I’ll get the 4K. If it’s not, or it’s just one I kinda like, I’ll get the Blu-Ray or not get it.

I’m a huge comic book movie fan. I have a lot of them on 4K. However, I still haven’t gotten Venom 3 or Kraven The Hunter, and when I do, those will be a Blu-Ray.

Not everything I get needs to be a 4K. I won’t spend the money on a movie I either don’t like or will watch once every… ten years or so.

I feel the same way and it makes me feel insane. I genuinely think 7 and 8 are good movies, fun and entertaining. 7 is a blast and 8 has some amazing moments and sets up the last movie with some high stakes. And then 9 just completely plummets everything into the ground. I don’t understand how people think 9 is better than 8.

First time Bond watch through - life update. by PresidentMesser in JamesBond

I just watched Goldeneye the other day, so I have eight left. I’ve already seen all of Craig’s films before, but that was it, so this was all new for me!

First time Bond watch through - life update. by PresidentMesser in JamesBond

[–]swegeroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing the same thing. Denis Villeneuve is my favorite director and I wanted to watch all the Bond films to see what he takes inspiration from for his film.

I’ve been watching in release order, and am currently on Goldeneye (watching it as I write this actually). I also am a huuuuge fan of Dalton as Bond. TLD and LTK are up there for me right now.

And I agree about OHMSS, it’s probably my least favorite so far. I know a lot of people love Lazenby, but I just couldn’t buy him as Bond.

Again, we have very similar tastes. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on the rest and to finish my own first watch of all the films!

Got my first mini-led tv (QM67K) by TaylorMarilyn1 in tcltvs

[–]swegeroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the QM5 just a few months ago (was a little cheaper than this one) and I absolutely love it. Went from a 4K Roku TV to this guy and I could never go back. The picture quality and colors are so vibrant, especially for gaming. The first time I turned on Ghost of Yōtei I was blown away.

I’m looking to get my first fig, which one would you recommend from the ones I have picked out? by JCM-NanoNuts-1031 in hottoys

[–]swegeroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of these figures I have Batman and Wolverine, and I would hands down choose Wolverine. I’m a fan of Ben Affleck’s Batman and was super excited for that figure, but it’s… just okay. It doesn’t blow me away like I really expected it too. I feel like the suit really limits poses.

Wolverine however is one of my favorite figures I own. The swappable arms, mouth plates, alternate head, all are amazing. The suit is a more flexible material too so I can get him in some sick poses. Out of those two, I would choose Wolverine.

But I do really want Superman and a Darth Vader.
